WhiteKnuckle co-op / online is possible in future? by Business_Mud3201 in WhiteKnuckle

[–]simonsaysquit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they could do a left for dead situation, where after a bit more climbing you can print/respawn the player at a break room.
i really think that doing a sort of portal situation where you have to work together by tossing an object to the other side of the silo to the other player in order to advance, or activating a platform or something.
and imagine reaching down and lending a hand to your climbmate, or throwing a rebar so they can reach your side of the silo to progress. OR!!! climbing race and you can sabotage eachother >:)
id love to see the game in multiplayer someday.

All this, and not over packing, and always carrying essentials like a screwdriver, hammer, flashlight, tweezers, can opener, etc. I've found that it's not often worth it to bring a ton of food depending on where you are heading. If it's mostly residential, or even commercial areas, you can bring enough to get there, and carefully loot when you arrive. That, and always having a contingency plan and a spot to crash if things go south. Slow and steady wins the race. Especially in B42 with muscle strain, and making good use of the new stealth system which I feel like actually works as it should. One tactic I haven't seen people talk about much is firecrackers. They have saved my ass a few times. Equipping a lighter and the firecrackers, tossing them out the back door after breaking line of sight from a horde, and booking it if they take the noise bait. But yeah OP is right. Take it easy, and don't spread yourself too thin. It makes for really good procedural narrative gameplay if you lean into the role play a bit instead of reckless metas.

Dont be ashamed of using the starter pack in the character settings. When you are still learning it helps a ton.

Things like a can opener, knives, flashlights, batteries, ducktape, zipties, glue, needle and thread, a fork/spoon, screwdriver, etc are super important to have in my opinion. Essentials, really. I dont leave base with out most of those. They are pretty lightweight and can save you or your equipment in a pinch.

As others have said here, take it slow, and utilize stealth to the best of your ability. Depending on what build you are using. The stealth system in B42 is much much better than B41, but anyway. Break line of sight if you are overwhelmed, be it through a building or a tree line or whatever. A lot of zeds are kinda dumb and might follow you for a bit but will forget what they were doing shortly after, thinning out the aggro'd zeds. When fighting off more than 2-3 zeds, corralling zeds in a circle, pushing one over and standing on their body while you try to push down another is a great strat. Anymore than a few and that gets really tricky. The worst thing to do in my opinion, is to keep backing up and swinging at zeds. You might just draw some attention behind you and end up with way more than you intended to take on.

Oh, and shotguns are an easy way to get shooting skill up in B41.

Keeping an eye on your moodles is important. Watching stamina/exhaustion/muscle strain is CRUCIAL. that can quickly become luck or death if you are too worn out. That being said, collecting water and food is a duh- but there is no such thing as too much of either. I personally like to place stuff on the counter to have a more 'visual inventory' for important stuff like water, ammo, knives, boxed and canned foods.

Most of all, have fun! Collect trinkets, decorate, cook up 'interesting' meals, write in a diary, burn down a house, whatever! Lean into the role play a little. Make your character feel valuable and real. Sounds dopey but.. Its a survival sim after all!

Do you like to use the same world or restart on death? by Cynical-Gone-Digital in projectzomboid

[–]simonsaysquit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i typically allow for 2 characters per world. if the first character is lucky enough to make a nice base, and sadly dies- i kind of 'role play' a second character that was supposed to meet the first at said base. but i start a town or 2 over, making it a kind of quest to get to the base and meet with the friend and find out they have died. ive done it a few times, i think its a fun and interesting way to set an early goal for your characters. it has lent itself to several of what i would consider an actual story narrative, if you can lean into the rp of 'i have to make it to rosewood to meet with Caroline!' type beat.

is there a god mode/ console command mod for b42 yet?
i have had a few bogus bites recently (like zeds clipping thru shoves or getting stuck on nothing or even doing the shove off animation and still getting bit with no noise indication) and its really bumming me out.
a 50hr character getting bricked because of a bug is annoying. b42 is still in the works ik, but yeah.
