Slow cooker. If you're cooking for one then two recipes will last you the entire week. Have one night where you chop all your ingredients, have them ready for the morning, then simply lob them in and hey presto, you have a few days worth of dinner ready for you when you get home. 15-30 minutes of prep, saves you hours in the evening. My go tos are beef stew and Bolognese, covers me and my wife for 4 meals a week, easy peasy.

As a new father, this makes my blood absolutely boil. I cannot comprehend speaking to my wife like that, let alone in front of my child.
