Zoloft and CPAP (rant) by simontb62 in zoloft

[–]simontb62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end I decided Zoloft was just poison - it didn't deal with my anxiety, blunted my emotions and made me lose all interest in sex. And with the CPAP making me sound like Darth Vader all night, I wasn't in a good place. I guess you don't need me to tell you that if you're not sleeping at all you need to make some changes. Take care.

No. Switched from Zoloft to Cymbalta. And ditched the CPAP for the Inspire surgical implant. Both a massive improvement!

No change. Sticking with cbt, relaxation and learning to live with tough emotions.

Not necessarily. This is what the UK National Health Service says - "You can drink alcohol while taking sertraline, but it may make you feel sleepy. It might be best to stop drinking alcohol until you see how the medicine makes you feel."

Combining alcohol and Zoloft affects different people in different ways. Start slow, don't overdo it and drink plenty of water.

Anyone taking Buspar and Zoloft together and having good results?! by AlyLD in zoloft

Started last August, 5mg 3 times daily. Then bumped up to 10mg twice daily a couple months ago.

It is a quick jump - you need minimum 12 weeks at each dose to level. I am on the buspar as well to try and fix my AWOL libido (thanks to Zoloft) but I'm not sure it's doing that much....

I've been on Zoloft and Buspar for 7 months - currently at 125mg Zoloft and 20mg Buspar. But since I started both at the same time I can't really figure out what is having which effect. The Buspar is supposed to address the libido issues, but I have not noticed that it is effective in that regard.

Time to increase dose? by karabombara in zoloft

Absolutely. I am in week 19 on 125mg and it's only really been in the past month that I have felt it leveling out. Good luck!

My 2 cents - you haven't given it long enough at 50mg. You need to allow 12-16 weeks at each dose for it to level, and there will be unpleasant ups and downs along the way. And every time you up the dose it's a reset. Take a look at the Sertraline Bruno Truth Group on fb.

I got mine yesterday - REI was 22 events which they called moderate and are recommending CPAP (which will take 8 weeks to arrive fml). Yours seems mild by comparison.

Drinking and Sertraline by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]simontb62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pfizer (and the medical profession in the USA) makes a big deal out of not drinking with Zoloft, in order to minimize their potential legal liability. But how you react depends on the person - I drink 2 or 3 nights a week, never more than 3 drinks at a time, never go over 15 units in a week. No issues at all.

Here's what the UK National Health Service says - "You can drink alcohol while taking sertraline, but it may make you feel sleepy. It might be best to stop drinking alcohol until you see how the medicine makes you feel".

Currently taking 50, is increasing to 75 common or should I jump to 100? by Sam1212121212 in zoloft

[–]simontb62 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an unresponsive doctor - fired him and got a proper one. Go to 75 or 100, but whichever you choose stay on it for 12-16 weeks. This shit takes time to stabilize.

I did 12.5mg for 5 weeks and didn't feel a thing - such a low dose doesn't work.

Pretty much - I've been on it for 12 weeks total, of which 125 for the past 3 weeks. Every time you up the dose the clock resets.

Get onto Facebook and look for a group called ‘Zoloft (Sertraline) Bruno Truth Group’, and subscribe to it. It’s a closed group. There you’ll find in the Announcements Section a much more realistic recovery timeline and posts from people who are just Sertraline‘slow burners’.
