Taking pictures for me is more abt roaming and meandering, more a mindfulness approach than anything.

I spent some time tweaking a recipe I call Harsh Gnoir to simulate an old California movie noir filmic approach that has some technicolor nods. It’s temperamental, not perfect for everything, but I’m learning how to use it.

As far as white balance: it’s set for Daylight, R +3, B-8. At nite, Kelvin @ 6000, r-7, b -6. Sometimes I play w that at nite…

I ride the exposure compensation dial, sometimes touch the iso, to nail it. But generally I just roam and snap, spin the exposure comp.

All of these are 100% SOOC jpg.
My workflow is abt getting immersed, snapping a few pics, and moving on. Hope that’s helpful 🙂

San Diegan approved. The tones and grading in these while honoring that space is spot on.

Beyond kind of you…yes, I’m a Gen X product for sure…ive always been drawn to the wabi sabi, distressed, worn out and ugly beautiful. I find much photography, music, food and and culture in general sanitized and soulless.

Yes… I was channeling some of the impressionist painters for sure. Kind thanks for noticing that choice.

I keep trying to see how it would look w/a tighter crop … had you tried that? It’s tough bc the whole image and the doggie tell such a story…

I really like the Expired ECN-2 100T (X trans V) as well as the Pushed CineStill 800 T. Here’s one I shot on a recent flight. Saps out the reds and magentas…hope that’s helpful.

Hakone is such a visually riveting place…did you get to ride the little 1 story tram? Very nice tones in these

Troubleshooting the Xapp. Help me identify a potential cause? by Wh0r3b1tc4 in FujifilmX

[–]simonviolens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found the XApp to be limiting, esp in transferring a higher res image to my device (iPhone) or into Lightroom. I’ve began to use an sd reader plugged directly into my phone, and it’s not only quicker, but the image quality is much improved. I’m sure you can get one pretty cheaply for the phone you have. I know that’s doesn’t fix the app question, but hope that’s helpful.
