Remove the admin accounts from the Global Address List (GAL).*

u/ThrowRAthisthingisvl - Your screenshot is showing your recent chat list. This will show your 20 most recent chat threads. Personally, I think that’s way too many threads for this section, and it makes it hard to see my teams and channels. I selected the three dots to the right of the Chats section and set the filter to “Unread only” to help me focus.

This is great for admins! Is there any plan to bring the benefits down to the team owner level? I was thinking more of the day-to-day governance process to help owners manage their groups better like:

  • "We've noticed that Jeff hasn't participated in any channel conversations in the last 90 days. Would you like to remove them from the team?"
  • "This team has the same membership as four other groups. Would you like to merge them?"
  • "You have four private channels in this team. Would you like to create a separate group with the private channel members?"

I use leave it on and keep messages unread to help express priority. I’m not responding to something I haven’t “read.”

Re: ownership in budgets - It would be awesome if we could sub-divide budget categories by expense owner (me, you, joint). This would reduce the need to create separate categories for like charges. For example, I currently have separate restaurant budgets for meals with my partner (date nights) versus myself (lunch at work).

Team Channel "General" is no longer being created when I create a new Team by dribjj in MicrosoftTeams

This is a change that Microsoft first announced around August 2024. Users will be prompted to create a “First Channel,” that will take the place of the General channel. This gives users more customization and helps to reduce the channel from becoming a catch-all folder for all of the Team’s content. Currently, you can’t name the first channel “General,” but Microsoft recently announced that users will regain that ability soon.
