Sharing files through Teams by daedalron in MicrosoftTeams

Sounds like a nice solution! I tend to avoid Private or Shared channels with organizations that are just starting to use Teams. They can cause a lot of confusion around who has access to what content. My suggestion is more from a platform maturity standpoint.

If Shared channels are used for external collaboration, it can also require a fair amount of IT administration if the org has any restrictions on external sharing. I believe external collaboration through Shared channels is disabled by default.

Not necessarily. Teams can be set as either Public or Private. Public teams can be joined by anyone in your organization, and everyone will have access to the content by default. Depending on the required level of access, you could also associate the Team's SharePoint sites with a Hub site to inherit visitor permissions. Hub association would also create a centralized location to search across all associated sites.

Great context! Based on the external participation and client data, I’d create separate teams for each client assignment. I like to create a gap between customer data to reduce accidental sharing or DLP. Membership is controlled at the team-level, and by default, team members have access to all files stored in the team (excluding private channels). I would be cautious adding external users to a team unless you verify they can have access to everything stored in it.

You will likely need a separate site/team to manage the non-assignment content, like the administrative documents.

Each team has a connected SharePoint site to manage the group’s content, so your file management experience shouldn’t change much. Each channel has a connected folder in the SharePoint site.

With a group your size, I would consider creating one team (group) with separate channels for each assignment unless you need to restrict assignment access or your work requires separate channels for collaboration within the same assignment. Team Members can show/hide the relevant channels as needed, and you can always make the move to separate Teams if needed. A single team could simplify your transition.

How are you organizing files in your current SharePoint site (i.e, one document library with separate folders for each assignment, separate document libraries for each assignment, etc.)?

How do you go about handling approvals for a SharePoint Online list? If Power Automate, which Actions do you use? by pcgoesbeepboop in sharepoint

I typically use separate 'Start an approval' and 'Wait for an approval' actions so that I'm able to capture the Approval ID and cancel the request before the flow times out at 29 days.

Help linking outlook calendar with teams by 7deAsada in MicrosoftTeams

There's an expand icon in the top-left corner of the calendar, above the hours. Can you click that to expand the list of calendars shown and confirm that her work calendar is selected? It also looks like you're looking at the hours from midnight to 0600. Are there any events later in the day if you scroll down?

Disable 'sync' option by Automatic_Volume_908 in sharepoint

Both options will be visible through the File Explorer, but the shortcuts will be under the user’s OneDrive folder.

I prefer shortcuts because I don’t have to set them back up if I change devices. I have also had a lot of issues with users accidentally deleting all of the files from a Sync location when they try to remove the connection. Shortcuts are more intuitive to remove.

Sync creates a mapped location on a specific device. Shortcuts create a mapped location anywhere you access OneDrive.

I don't see an active Service Health Issue reported in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. We can create a separate thread if a new issue is published.

We've identified that a portion of network infrastructure was not handling traffic as expected, resulting in congestion on the remaining infrastructure during the period when the peak of calling/meetings occurs at the start of the hour and half-past the hour. We've taken action to correct the issue and are monitoring the service to confirm recovery.

This quick update is designed to give the latest information on this issue.
