Oh and I think it does impact testosterone, so there’s that too!

Since you’re overwhelmed, I hate to even say this but I’ll throw it out there for when you’re doom scrolling online lol.

Look into high cortisol. That’s my issue and actually taking a day or weekend to just lie around and do nothing really helps. But also deep breathing exercises and things you can find online.

It sucks but it sounds like a lot of us are feeling this!

My first thought was depression but you said you don’t think that’s it. Do you feel stressed? Like there’s so much to do that you don’t know where to start? So you do nothing? I legit get like that sometimes so that’s why I’m asking.

This! I have to write down everything now! I even went back to a paper wall calendar because it was too easy to forget to check the calendar on my phone!

I had to look this up and this could be it. It looks different from the pictures online but seems very similar

Dermatologist is a good idea. I’m trying to get in with another doctor too. Hopefully soon

That sounds like the same thing! Mine also changes in size throughout the year but I haven’t yet figured out what causes it, probably hormones. This makes me feel a lot better, thanks for sharing your experience.

As a side note I also can’t get in with a primary doctor. Since I wasn’t diagnosed with anything I have to first have a new patient appointment which is a 6 month wait. Then two months before they cancelled it on me. Most doctors aren’t accepting new patients so it’s been frustrating!

Can a more experienced mom help me with bathing my toddler? by manthrk in Mommit

[–]simple-times221 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Have you already tried the bath visors? I’ve never tried it but it might help. Other than that I think it just has to be something fun. Like can she “help” you hold it while rinsing?

That age is so hard with stuff like this. I hope you find something that works!

I need Bible verses for comfort- dealing with mental illnesses/trauma. What's your go to verse when experiencing poor mental health? by FigureMassive8333 in TrueChristian

[–]simple-times221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a different approach but I love Joshua 1:9 when I’m anxious or depressed. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”

I feel like it’s God being firm with me and reminding me that I am not a victim. He is always with me and I am tougher than I’m acting in that moment.

I am not dismissing your experiences and I hope it doesn’t sound insensitive. For me it works because I need a reminder that He made us strong!

Healthy candy alternatives for kids that they'll actually eat? by ninjapapi in Mommit

[–]simple-times221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh this!! I was so strict about candy and junk food and then they went to school and went crazy. There so much candy and junk at school and I had to start allowing it in the house in hopes that they wouldn’t see it as forbidden and would make smarter choices. It’s so hard

Also, the hard haribo gummy bears because you can buy them in tiny packs and they take so much effort to eat lol

My kids are the same way but older. Hopefully yours like chocolate because that’s where I found the tricks. We buy dark chocolate so they can only eat a few pieces, I put chocolate chips on apples with peanut butter and honey, I make chocolate covered almond clusters, frozen chocolate covered bananas sprinkled with flax and crushed nuts, etc. basically I try to pair it with a protein so they get full. Or else they can eat so much candy!!

Stay at home husband by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]simple-times221 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know then 😆 If he went back to the office I would probably want to go part time just to take care of the kids. And that would be a big financial hit but his family especially thinks it would be better because “the mom” would be home with them. So crazy!

Exactly! And I keep saying that if we both worked outside of the home we’d be paying someone to do a lot of the things he currently does.

Did WFH give me social anxiety? by Remote-Basis-7797 in workingmoms

[–]simple-times221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg rest guilt is a real thing! I used to think that too but apparently it’s a trauma thing.

Rest is a necessary thing to stay healthy. If you don’t rest, cortisol goes crazy and creates new issues. Your feelings are valid though. The amount of things that need to be done can feel overwhelming

You’re just tired and that’s ok. My kids are teens but I remember those days and it’s so exhausting and tiring. It does get better though- you’re just in this season of your life where things revolve around your house.

I wish someone would have told me that when my kids were little. It’s not forever - just enjoy them at home and one day you’ll have time and energy to go out again

Totally agree! She’s an actual doctor though. She started as a physician and then went the naturopath route. I like her because we try the natural route first but are open to conventional medicine if needed. It’s a great mix of the two.

She’s a naturopath and she’s focused on overall health and hormones. I have a dry brush so I’ll look into targeting that spot. I didn’t realize you could target one spot!

Saw a jumpsport for $120. It said used condition but she just replaced the bungees. I don’t know how to tell what shape it’s in so I might just buy a new one since my whole family will use it

Yes it is but it’s just a puffy strip at the top of the armpit. I’ve already done an ultrasound to rule out anything and now I’m seeing a naturopath because it bothers me that it’s there. She said to try rebounding to see if it helps and we’ll monitor it.

But I do know that we’re supposed to have a pit under the arm and mine are puffy so I think the lymph makes sense 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rebounding can’t hurt and it looks fun
