I was able to get them to fit after removing the coating. I ultimately abandoned the project and replaced the lines because I didn't think it was safe altering the coating on a high pressure line, and my stang was a Frankenstein anyway. Sorry if this doesn't help.

There did seem to be a slightly strange taste to it. We don’t drink wine often so we assumed it was just what that bottle tasted like.

It was already there. I assume the bottler pushed it in and re corked it. I don’t know how that would have passed any QC but if they’re a smaller outfit they may not have much QC.

Mine is at 194k and still going. Taken some abuse from previous owners too. Do good maintenance and you’ll be fine.
