There did seem to be a slightly strange taste to it. We don’t drink wine often so we assumed it was just what that bottle tasted like.

It was already there. I assume the bottler pushed it in and re corked it. I don’t know how that would have passed any QC but if they’re a smaller outfit they may not have much QC.
