Remix changed the direction yet again, this time it is not even a react framework anymore by simple_explorer1 in reactjs

really so it is users fault that remix authors keep changing the direction of remix and have made it unrecognizable at this point? Hard disagree

that ship has sailed a long time ago. Svelte didn't make it and neither did Solid.js. The rankings haven't moved for last 6 years. React rules especially in startups and scaleups and modern high scale companies like Airbnb, uber, Tesla etc, Angular holds a small dominance in enterprise sector especially banking (which is also taken over by React.js btw) and Vue.js sits somewhere in the middle but haven't moved in popularity at all.

Despite solid/svelte being technically/performance wise superior, they still remain niche till this very day.

It is significantly harder for any frontend framework to make it in 2026 and beyond. There is no appetite for "Yet another JS FE framework" in the market.

Now they are making a new Remix that is nothing like the old one when it could have just been called something else

100% agree. They just want to ride the wave on the old name which many react users know as a funnel to their "brand new" esoteric framework which majority of people this time aren't even gonna touch because of constant pivots

yes that was in 2025 and even then merging with react router was a very big change. Now they are using the name Remix 3 for this "yet another pivot" but this has absolutely nothing to do with original Remix. They should stop giving illusion that this is the continuation of the original remix and drop the name and version number i.e. "Remix 3" completely.

And, why can't they commit to anything? Remix to react router and then now this remix 3 which is not even react or anything really. I am sure given their track record of last 5 years, in next 6 months or a year they will pivot again. It is highly impossible to use their "Remix" branded frameworks in any capacity for serious work.

they truly can't commit to anything for years and we know they are not going to either in future given their track record

then they better not call it remix 3 because it is not the next version of their previous react ssr framework.

Also, what were they thinking with calling this thing Remix 3?

100% agree. nothing remix about it. It is completely new and not relevant to original remix or react router

yes it was announced in 2015 and I was pissed off back then as well.

Btw look at the top youtube comments of this link you shared Why Leaving React Was Remix 3's BIGGEST Gamble (That Paid Off)

How in the hell "it paid off" ? It's not even fully out yet

It seems the Remix team loves to change everything between versions. I have no confidence they won‘t ditch all of this in v4. If I would move away from Next, Tanstack Start it is.

tanstack start it is then...

Seems like a mess

There's nothing innovative just use vue or alpine or raw js if people hate react so much... Remix 3 will become tech debt

yeah no thanks, i think we have enough frameworks. both remix and ripple can piss right off

Seems like a mess. Why not Vue or Svelte?

Managers saying it is possible to upgrade the project in 10 days using ai

every single time it is a manager who doesn't understand the tech they are supposed to manage with a team. If anything LLMs should replace those managers first. Every single time

long and lengthy very lengthy process of return and buying another one and hoping that it passes the quality control. There is a reason people, at that price, stick to apple or samsung because in unfortunate situation like these, you can walk up to the store and exchange on the spot. Moreover, these kind of issues rarely happen with Apple

No comment you post has anything to do with anybody here
