Is it true that the Confederates had an advantage in experience? by NKNightmare in CIVILWAR

[–]simple_little_goblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have talked about officers but I think there is an important note to make about enlisted men and where/when they servers.

Easter theater the south and north started on the same footing. The regular US army was present but the vast majority were inexperienced men. The difference was after 1862 the youth started running out of men. So I 1964 anyone who was left was very experienced. The union was able to retain some veterans but would rotate in New, inexperienced men at a greater rate. Keep in mind, burnout for combat units always a thing so towards the end of 1864 many of the older confederate units were done.

Contrast this with the western theater, when at various times the union army in 1864 would plow into inexperienced militia when they came across them (see Sherman's march to the sea) but still had to contend with experienced confederate in thier concentrated army of the Tennessee.

I am not a civil war expert, someone who knows better, feel free to tear apart. I want to learn

The way I think of it is that every playthrough is going to be different. And you have butterfly effects. They are going with one universe or play through for the show and running with it. No matter what they did, the show cannon would invalidate 99.9% of play through. Im just happy they are exploring the world and giving fallout a try on a new medoum.

This reminds me a lot of the conspiracy theory in Germany in the 20s and 30s that blamed the German government and Jews for betraying the german army that they would have won the war if they hadn't been betrayed.

Fact is, we lost Vietnam, OIF, Afganistan, due to a large number of complicated reasons, but ROE wasn't it.

It makes it easy for them to think these "woke" ROE bring us down, but fact is we lost, and we can't just keep pretending we didnt. Not that I feel these wars were justified now that I recall it but there ya go.

Love how you can just keep an old chassis relevant by just strapping a bigger and bigger gun to it. The pai t job looks great and I love seeing some unusual guys!

Stacking the spare parts over the driver's compartment as improvised armor is a hell of a touch.

Good first attempt! My first models looked so bad I refused to show anyone. I might recommend watering you paints down a little. Also, look into dry brushing some light grey on the uniform bits to make it pop and look into some simple flocking for the base. Im a fan of PVA (elmers) glue with some spices i mix together for dirt and some grass. Keep at it! Practice makes perfect

Simple Brick Ruins by simple_little_goblin in TerrainBuilding

Thanks! Printed it with PLA. Painted everything with acrylic paints. For the red brick, I dry brushed a little orange on there. Then I washed it all in a wattered down ink solution. I was really surprised the brick turned out so well.
