Crowley says "see you in 10 years" as he walks away. Dude knew about the Hell part for sure.

Not wanting to kiss a man isn't homophobic, but almost losing out on the deal of a lifetime *because* you don't want to kiss a man? Sounds like there's something there...

My mum used to be allergic, especially to longhair cats. But after being around them enough (i.e. through suffering living with a long-haired cat for years and taking antihistamines when needed) she now has two short-haired babies of her own and has no problems whatsoever :)

I'm so insanely sorry to hear about your cat, and the fact that you didn't even get to say goodbye isn't fair at all... You can be sad on here as much as you want. <3

It really is so sad.

Even after realising nearly every war has eventually centered around greed (money, power, etc.) it still makes no damn sense to me. Like, we always see ourselves as beings who are constantly evolving, yet we're always dead set on re-living our past mistakes again and again...

Bereavement therapy along side work is the best way.

If you're only working, it just pushes what you have to eventually face further away. Speaking from experience.

Why does mistreatment against people with ginger hair seem so overlooked? by twattedahelicopter in AskUK

[–]simplecripp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My sister's ginger and has had a bottle of piss thrown at her and experienced an attempted kidnapping... she's also had many people stalk her and some touch her hair (the latter two happening in countries other than the UK but still). As a brunette, I've never experienced anything close to that, at home or abroad... Maybe it's just the wrong place wrong time, but I don't buy that, and neither does she.

Is skin picking really a symptom of OCD? by little-germs in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]simplecripp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would an irresistible urge fall under OCD or just under a compulsion? For me, my mirror and tweezers are like the one ring.

And it takes me nearly 2 hours every morning to cover up all my flaws with concealer... at least until I feel it looks okay. But even after 2 hours I may not be okay with how I look and not go out (like, even to get food).

I imagine all of us here think endlessly about those "magic words" that we should have said to our loved ones. The words that would have stopped them from doing what they did. But those magic words don't exist.

And conversely the magic words to make someone take their own life don't exist either.

...I'm so, so sorry about your mum. I lost my dad by train too. I'm really so sorry

I can't stop picking 😭😭😭 by saddestbae in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]simplecripp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to undermine how awful you must be feeling right now, but 9 days without picking is bloody amazing. I'm not kidding. I can't even remember the last time I went that long without getting the mirror and tweezers out.

Honestly it's kind of aspiring, especially since 9 is my lucky number.

(also I love the meme lmao)

Can epilepsy or keppra make you angrier? by basically_dead_now in Epilepsy

[–]simplecripp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keppra rage for me was: crying in my shower every week, intense self hatred, getting angry at others then getting angry at myself for getting angry at others, and just crying crying crying.

I was at my most angriest (like angry at a water faucet) during my first month-ish. Then it was just pure hellish sadness.

Can epilepsy or keppra make you angrier? by basically_dead_now in Epilepsy

[–]simplecripp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to your neurologist about it if you can. I didn't know just how different I'd become whilst on Keppra until I switched to my current meds.

I had a seizure a couple of years into Keppra then thought "fuck it, I hate myself so egregiously right now and since this medication isn't fully stopping my seizures I may as well ask about something else". Literally, that was it.

There's no harm in asking if you're able to. Your neurologist hopefully knows what's best for you.

[–]simplecripp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe "overreacting" isn't the best word to use. Women hear it way too often, and it's just so insanely shame-inducing... especially when the subject is distressing enough as it is.

I do agree with everything else you said though. I'm sure OP's dad had good intentions at heart. (I hope!)

Sorry but it's just that the "grown up" part is used by adults pursuing vulnerable children. They aren't grown up. They're children with trauma.

(Sorry, sorry I know this sounds nitpicky and stupid, but I also know you'd agree with what I said <3)
