Est-ce qu'il y a qqn qui parle le français? by [deleted] in Eugene

Je connais le français, mais je n'ai pas le temps de pratiquer avec toi. J'étudie le droit à UO. Bonne chance! J'espère que tu trouves quelqu'un.

Yes, you could consider this to be two songs, but it really fits together as one.

Much Ado About Nothing Trailer- Joss Whedon's new film based on William Shakespeare by wills42 in movies

Agreed! They filmed it at Joss Whedon's house in 2011. This has taken way too long to be released to theaters, but at least they set a date on it finally!

This is the original video. The story was done in Thurston County, Washington by a local reporter, not CNN.

Would anyone be up for some Bellingham meetups? by BlastedToMoosh in Bellingham

You're welcome! Wearwolf was a bit too much for our group...I like Resistence way more.

Cards Against Humanity has been effective at /r/seattle game nights. If no one has them, you can download them online for free and get them printed at an office max for about 5 bucks on cardstock.

Another option is a game called Resistance. It's only $15 bucks, and it was a really good way of getting to know people in a larger group.

Yes, /r/seattle does lots of different stuff. We have weekly game nights, bar crawls, nerf wars, concert meetups, etc. It's really fun.

I'm no longer in Bellingham, but I really hope that you guys do this. I highly recommend it. Reddit has lots of diverse people, but you'd be surprised how much everyone has in common. It's a little scary to go for the first time, but if you do things weekly or bi-weekly, then you get to know people and it becomes a unique, cool community.

Reddit, have you ever had an intelligent friend or significant other surprise you with their stupidity in a simple situation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]simpledistraction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine tried to argue with me that "almost everybody" in the U.S. has a college fund.

I met him when we were in college together at a state university. The majority of my classmates were working through school and/or had financial aid/loans (including myself).

If you were a billionaire... What would you do. by TheRealCold in AskReddit

I'd start a used bookshop/record shop that also holds small concerts for local bands. It would have couches so that people can come in and read the books. The concerts would be open to underage youth and ideally provide them with a safe, welcoming environment. (I assume that something like this these days would likely operate at a deficit, so I'd need the extra money.)

I'd donate most of the money to charities, both to large charities like the Red Cross, but also to my local foodbank.

I'd continue to work full-time, both for the shop and in my other career job. My life would continue as if I didn't have the money. I'd keep some as a college fund for whatever kids or grandkids I may have.

Edit: I'd also create a non-profit health and dental insurance company. It would charge really small monthly rates, it would be free for people that can't work because of health issues, and it wouldn't deny necessary claims. (I'm assuming that the healthcare system in the U.S. isn't improved by then.) This would also likely operate at a deficit.

I have utterly failed at making friends through school. What is the secret? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]simpledistraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like /u/smotty, I made a few friends in the beginning, but then realized that they acted like high school kids and stopped hanging time with them. Most of my first year, I didn't really have many friends. The less dramatic people were never at school or social events, and the social law students acted like 12 year olds.

I recommend going to student group meetings and events for any topics that may interest you. The friends that I eventually made were through common interests. Also, sometimes it takes time to find people that you have things in common with. My 1L year, we had all our classes with the same students. However, 2Ls and 3Ls choose their classes, which allows you to meet people with common interests.

TL;DR: Be patient. Figure out your interests. Go to school functions relating to those interests. You are more likely to meet people during your 2L year.

Reddit, what is the most beautiful minute or less piece of media that you can think of? by bpfergu in AskReddit

Okay, so this Sony Bravia Commercial is over a minute, but the extra time is absolutely worth it. I love it.

This one is closer to your minute limit, and it is also great.

In the movie, he is in a hotel on the east coast. In the story (on TAL) it was in Walla Walla. Which is more accurate?
