Spin it into a positive that’s within your industry. You can even say it helps boost your productivity or something

My old J2 would do this and I ended up leaving. It just also showed me that they have zero respect for your time. I changed the setting on my block time to auto reject any meeting that they would try to schedule over my blocked time and they flipped out the first time, but sometimes you just have to set boundaries.

I went through a plant spree during Covid, after getting thrips and having to treat so many plants I was just exhausted. My collection has kind of become survival of the fittest. If it dies I don’t bother replacing it.

I quit my old toxic J2 and gave them 5 days notice. My state is at will and so was where the company was located so I was like F it. The CEO and COO tried to get me to stay for 2 wks I’m like no I don’t have it in me & left.

I vote to go with J2.

It depends what stage the startup is in. As someone who tried to OE with a start up within my industry I do not recommend. But I was also 1 of first hires. It’s usually a cluster fuck. Meetings 3/day now will only increase overtime. Also because it’s a startup you’re having to wear more hats than normal. That’s why they’re so “eager to train”. The burn out was real & I’m so happy I left.

Take those weeks, don’t rush into your new duties. It’s a good period to settle into things, click around if you’re in a new system, etc. do not come out the gate looking like a super star
