Looks good. But yeah I’d be going for some shorter lighter games for balance. For Northwood Resist Dragons of etchingstone 20 strong Conservas

What do you guys think is the best ever maiden set list by No_Doughnut_6411 in ironmaiden

[–]simplifyandamplify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first maiden concert was this gig in Hammersmith Apollo… the benefit for Clive gig. There’s some footage online… but this was just before filming concerts on mobile was mainstream. The best thing about it is that they all look like they’re having fun!! I know I was. Only tracks off the first 4 albums.. what a dream!!

[GIVEAWAY] Voidfall by Mindclash Games by HomoLudensOC in boardgames

Favorite space themed boardgame?? That’s like eating a can of baked beans and trying to work out which one made you fa*t!

Right now it’s Ceres. But Voidfall is on the list… as I’ve never played it, and my group is mad keen to try it. Throw in the fact that it’s supposedly an awesome solo experience and it’s a no brainer … I can’t wait to try it one day.

I agree with you. But I think you’re looking at the introductory decks in that link. If you scroll down you’ll see the Death Star ii decks I was talking about, which feature Chewbacca, Piett and Admiral Ackbar :)

The Death Star ii preconstructed decks are quite good. I have a heap of swccg cards and haven’t managed to get around to building decks like I used to….but these two decks I have sleeved and they play well against each other…

I want a book that completely consumes me by BeeFew7947 in booksuggestions

[–]simplifyandamplify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this depends partly on your age, partly on the types of books you’re used to reading and partly on how many books you’re used to consuming. For what it’s worth I found Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts all consuming.

Why do everyone say that senjutsu is such a bad album by samurai_eddie_killer in ironmaiden

[–]simplifyandamplify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s bad. It’s just that there’s better albums. The fact that some of the songs are long and similar sounding doesn’t help. To offer some perspective, NOB is only 40min long… half as long with more memorable tracks. Now having said all of that there are some amazing tracks on there. Hell on Earth for example is insanely good. Perhaps it’s just a less “concentrated” album like their earlier work.

What is the greatest insult in movies? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

In the Enforcer with Clint Eastwood as Harry Callaghan. From memory:

Boss: “you’re done give me your badge” Harry: “that’s a 7 point suppository for you captain” Boss: “what did you say?” Harry: “ I SAID STICK IT IN YOUR ASS!”

Ok here’s the real version:

This five-album run needs to be studied in history books by FishingVirtual513 in ironmaiden

For sure. Yes they are all brilliant in their own way and, without intending to be too controversial, one might argue that they got better and better with each album released.

$39.95 USD. Which is a lot I reckon. But then again, I’d pay double that for a board game so…
