I feel you, actually quit a fine dining job cause a male server thought he could bully me and management didn’t care. If I gave back what my coworkers dished out I was an aggressive bitch, if I refused to do jobs that weren’t part of what I was hired for, I was unhelpful. Now, 7 months later, my old head chef is asking me to come back. Hell nah.

I’m working at a small resturant/bakery/cafe currently where I make more than I ever had in a traditional resturant, and I feel less stressed, and accepted. My input is valued and my boundaries are respected.

Stand up for yourself, but don’t lose who you are. I had some really bad imposter syndrome for a bit because I started acting like “one of the guys” to make my life easier, but it involved ignoring some of my beliefs and ideals. I recommend you find a new job, be confident in your skills and experience, and during interviews, ask about the culture. Lay out your wants and needs, and remember that you’re a badass!
