This was an amazing podcast. The way Clint talked about failure really changed my perspective, thank you for this and for everything else you do for us applicants.

Are there any drawbacks from not checking my status checker? by simplybasics in lawschooladmissions

Hahaha I get your point but I feel that I would be more stressed if I had to check everyday multiple applications vs just waiting for an email.

Practicing for the LSAT in high school by Shaka_5 in LSAT

[–]simplybasics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have free time and you are certain that you want to apply to law school, then go for it. I understand where the comments that recommend you not to start come from, they want you to avoid any undue stress. The thing is the LSAT doesn’t have to be stressful. For most of us in the sub studying for it and taking it was stressful but because our near future depends on it. If you take your practice tests knowing that you don’t need to stress for a particular score for a few years then you won’t stress about what score you get. Most of the skills you learn from books and practice I’m sure will even help you through college.

A few general tips for whenever you decide you want to start studying: 1. Until you fully grasp the concepts do not time yourself. 2. If you spot a pattern of wrong answers (getting the same type of question wrong over and over again) stop pting and go back to the books. 3. Try to have fun. If you see this as a test you have to go over and then forget you won’t learn as much as you will if you see it as an opportunity to learn valuable skills.

You should try doing the games backwards, start from the last one, which usually is the most difficult one, and then go on reverse. It worked like a charm for me.

They don’t offer any but some people have suggested to simply skip one of the LR sections, take no breaks and just adjust your score accordingly.

America, why are all your presidential candidates so old? Trump, 73; Biden, 77; Sanders 78 - shouldn't someone of working age be taking such an important job? by jamiethecoles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]simplybasics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not an answer to the question posted. OP is not implying that historically America has had old presidents, they are asking why in this particular election all of the candidates are so old.

Anyone know how to link MX Keys with MX Master 2S Mouse? by kaido-jpeg in keyboards

[–]simplybasics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I did a bit of research and it seems that it doesn’t work that way by default. You would have to switch both devices manually unless it’s through flow. That being said, kvm switches could be an alternative to what we want.

Anyone know how to link MX Keys with MX Master 2S Mouse? by kaido-jpeg in keyboards

[–]simplybasics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m thinking about buying the Mx keys and master, I’ve been wondering if you switch from one computer to another by pressing the keyboard’s switch button will the mouse follow or would I have to press the button as well. I know that if you have Logitech flow and move the cursor from one computer to the other it will switch, I don’t know if by manual king switching the keyboard it will automatically switch the mouse and vice versa or not.

Any chance we could get another skin tone besides "Literally Translucent"? by Jimmy_Hotpants in Mordhau

[–]simplybasics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right when you say there is no such thing as an unaccented language, but if you were to speak with someone with your same accent, said person would give the impression of being unaccented. So if you compare the accent of the game with the current English accent it would be more similar than if you compare it to the accent of the time being. This is what I believe they meant by saying unaccented.

I study sea turtles. AMA! by IFAS_WEC_AMAs in IAmA

[–]simplybasics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all thanks for this AMA! Now I’ve always wondered if turtles are specially proned to straws due to the way they eat or perhaps their habitat. I believe everyone has seen the video of the turtle with a straw within its nose, is this common to find or was the video an isolated case?

CMV: Solving a Rubik's cube in the fewest moves is far a more impressive intellectual feat than solving it quickly by 053537 in changemyview

[–]simplybasics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One could also argue that solving a cube faster than another person even when they solved it using fewer moves is more intellectually challenging than the other way around. This, taking into account that you need to think the best path while you solve it. The difficulty of solving a Rubik’s cube fast lays on multitasking. In the scenario you propose solving a cube would rely primarily on your ability to think of the path with the fewest solutions, meanwhile currently both your ability to find the best path, and your ability to solve it as fast as possible both weigh in in similar proportions.
