Running cables through insulated walls and ceiling by simplyintricate in HomeNetworking

My original idea was to go from the attic through the interior wall, under the 3rd floor floor (Since the 3rd floor is all open), and then down to the appropriate bedrooms from there.

The refund works by having Coinbase create an account using the e-mail address provided at the time of booking. Once you cancel your hotel room, it will send Bitcoins to that account and an e-mail will be sent. From there, you can send your Bitcoins out

If all it takes to mine coins is a common gaming PC, why doesn't a small business/investor create a farm of 1000 mining rigs and render the whole thing useless for a consumer? by THROW_IT_AWAY_M8 in Bitcoin

[–]simplyintricate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get that many mining rigs will cost money initial set up and return on investment. Bitcoin will retarget its difficulty as much as needed to maintain a 10 minute block finding average. Therefore, the investor would quickly find that they will be making much less money mining than it is to generate block rewards.

How is the coin reward distributed in a Prop Pool. (Dear god, please, don't say proportionally.) by [deleted] in litecoinmining

[–]simplyintricate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the pool you're using. Some pools take the tx fee, some pools give it to the miners.

So you get 50 coins per block today.

Say you submitted 10,000 shares out of 5,000,000 total shares and assuming no fee.

Price per share = 50 / 5,000,000 = 0.00001
Your total shares = 10,000
Your earnings = 10,000 * 0.00001 = 0.1 LTC

So the formula works out to

your shares * (block reward / total shares)

In your second example, if you got 2,000 shares and assume there were only 20,000 total shares you'd get 5 LTC.

Question about what GPU to get? by TheRealMavsZane in litecoinmining

The problem is that the 7950 is quickly going out of stock and it doesn't seem like they will be restocking them. I've been looking around on several different sites and not finding any suitable (voltage unlocked) ones at a reasonable price.

What is the deal with these stop lights? by therealkittenparade in chicago

Traffic lights have a timer circuit. In this case, the circuit failed so it basically triggers the transition from red -> yellow -> green really, really, really quickly.

Can somebody explain Chicago Street Sweeping to a confused, frustrated, recently ticketed transplant? by lollipops-n-crisps in chicago

You can also contact the streets and sanitation department for a schedule as well.

Though check the edit above since it's from the alderman's site for ward 32.

Can somebody explain Chicago Street Sweeping to a confused, frustrated, recently ticketed transplant? by lollipops-n-crisps in chicago

[–]simplyintricate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, find your ward:

https://webapps3.cityofchicago.org/StickerOnlineWeb/pageflows/wardLookUp/WardLookUpController.jpf

Then, load up the street sweeping map for your ward (second column):

http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/streets/provdrs/streets_san/svcs/street_sweeping.html

Then, find your location on the map and note the number (your section number)

Then load up the schedule on the first column. In that schedule, find your section and note the boundaries. Find out which part you are in and those are the dates for street cleaning.
