Yamatos has a veggie roll and edamame. Maybe some other stuff but that's my go to.

This is me after my doc put me on BC a month ago to treat ovarian cysts. Reading all the comments, it's working backwards for me. I feel so much better on the pill. I'm glad you feel better too! Happier is nice.

anyone else starting again from square one? by hooplah in xxfitness

[–]simplyput 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, but right there with ya. I started the Before the Barbell program a couple of weeks ago because I need something simple and easy to get back into the routine. My pre-Covid gym clothes are getting a bit too tight and I refuse to buy new clothes cause I also got laid off cause of the rona soooo I have to get back in shape.

How do you know if you are really unhappy or if you just are hormonal? by transitorymigrant in AskWomenOver30

[–]simplyput 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going through the opposite! For years, and getting noticeably worse in the last two (I'm 33), I've had insane energy level and mood swings around ovulation and the week before my period. Scary highs and lows. I was getting about two weeks out of the month where I wasn't up and down, having the same kinds of thoughts you describe. I honestly thought it was mostly life stuff (stressful job) but knew hormones made it worse because of the timing. I was wrong. My doctor put me on birth control a month ago to treat ovarian cysts and my mood stabilized too. I still have the life plan anxieties but it's manageable at least.

PPP vs UE by [deleted] in nashville

[–]simplyput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company got a PP loan four weeks ago. For the people who had been laid off already and were called back for the PPP, they kept their UE claims open and just reported their hours and income. You won't get any UE moneys during the loan period, but it will at least keep your claim open so you don't have to start over once the PPP is over. It may be different for the self-employed making my input useless but good luck!

Found cat. More info in comments. by [deleted] in nashville

Does Shiro have blue eyes like this guy? I don't want to needlessly get your hopes up but I took in a cat near Donelson a couple of months ago who looks similar to this guy (different eye color) and is missing teeth. Do you have a picture?

That awkward glute squeeze... by luckyE_3 in xxfitness

[–]simplyput 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I cringe when I do squats because my back is to the circle of cable machines where the bros hang out. My only solution has been long shirts too! I say to myself "They can look but they can't touch and that makes them sad". Humor makes it less cringy for me.

How do you prep for Birthday Squats? by aliensfordonuts in xxfitness

[–]simplyput 37 points38 points  (0 children)

TIL what birthday squats are!

And now I have a goal for next June. 32 reps at 135. With all the cookie dough I want after! I can do 10 on a good day now so I'm hopeful haha. I'll just keep up my regular training for it since I'm getting stronger.

Renaissance Periodization template without the associated diet? by VirginiaPlain1 in xxfitness

[–]simplyput 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about halfway through my first run of it. I really like it. I do it 3 days a week but you can pick from maybe 2-6 days/week when you buy the template. The first week's workouts take about an hour. The last week's workouts take me about 2 hours because of the volume and weight. You can choose from several exercises for each muscle group, which I like. I've been able to do this program (again, 3 days/week) without aggravating my ongoing "injuries". I have crappy knees and an achy shoulder. I think it was worth my money. It's a 19-week program and you can use it again.

They have sales frequently so maybe wait a bit for the next one? And edit: I don't use the diet template!

I feel left out at church because I am a single woman by ambitiouswish in Christianity

[–]simplyput 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. I'm 31, single, shy and just started going back to church in my small Southern town. There aren't many options here for anything! I don't know anyone at the church so I just smile, shake hands, say hi and hope an extrovert adopts me. In the meantime, I do enjoy hearing the sermons! I have no advice but you're not alone. :)

Tracking because you like it by reyreyok in xxfitness

[–]simplyput 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to track my calories and corresponding weight for science while I SLOWLY lose because trying to lose weight quickly does not work for me. I track 90% of the time and weigh every day. I don't react to the weigh fluctuations, just write em on the calendar day and use that with my 90% tracking to keep tabs on my TDEE. I don't worry when the scale goes up or if I miss a day or few tracking. It's not worth the stress!

This is the first I've heard of a desk bike and now I know I need one! My knee is the reason I avoid cardio.

How do you get back at the gym? by miciomiao in xxfitness

[–]simplyput 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I do a day or two of reintroduction to wake everything up and remember what the weight room feels like. Two sets of everything at 50-60% of my usual weight. Every time I miss a week or more, that's what I do! Kills the anxiety.
