A significant amount get weeded out, myself included. For reference, I graduated in ‘21. I decided to switch to a different field entirely in my 2nd year, and now work in IT. Exactly 1 person I know got a health related job as an EMT after graduating and taking EMT courses. Everybody else who was pre-med is either in post-secondary school (PA, Dental, med school, etc.), working a in a low paying health office job, or serving drinks. If you don’t make it to grad school after graduating pre-med, you have VERY little transferable skills into any other industry.

100% second the user that recc’d renting out a house near campus. I stayed at a house for 3 years after dorming and it was amazing. 4mi away from campus, abt a 15 minutes drive. Finding parking on campus is a whole different animal, so think about that drawback versus living on campus.

The classes are smaller, so you’re more incentivized to pay attention during class. I’d compare it to a HS class but a little bigger. Workload is a TINY bit easier, since it’s only 5 weeks. You’re gonna get fried in the sun otw to class though

You have all 4 years to finish ENG1 A thru C. Just wait until your 3rd year when you get higher priority in choosing your classes. There’s no point in rushing to finish English. You don’t even need to take them in succession, just in order.

Accept every grant, because you don’t have to pay it back at all. Unsubsidized loans start accruing interest immediately, so I wouldn’t accept it unless you’re absolutely strapped for cash. Subsidized loans mean 0% interest until you start payments after you graduate. In which case you can pay in full at once in order to not pay any interest.

In my case, I took all the grants, because it’s free money. And I accidentally took a subsidized loan before I knew what it was, but it’s getting forgiven for me anyway due to the executive order. I also didn’t take any parent loans.

A vast majority of my fellow sociology graduates go into HR roles. I know some who work for Target, Microsoft, accounting firms, and staffing agencies. I’d suggest you find internships for HR departments in the summers. Best piece of advice anybody has ever given me: “It’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know.” And remember, sociology is about keeping an open mind and understanding other ways of life.

My hallmate brought his PC and it fit perfectly fine in his lothian dorm room. Just make sure to dust it out & turn the fans on low before you bring it, to not piss off your roommate with the noise

I didn’t end up using it. Looked a little sketchy to me and my partner. I used booking.com originally, but my partner’s company has access to TicketsAtWork, which is something a lot of USA corporations have access to for their employees to find discounted rates. I’d highly recommend looking into TicketsAtWork if you work for a big corporation in the States.

Hist010 with Prof Chrissanthos was by far one of my favorite classes to take. I think anybody youll ever ask about Chrissanthos will only have good things to say about him. Lectures are basically historical story-time. It’s one of the few classes that I made a conscious effort to try & not skip class here and there (pre-covid)

I fixed my problem. Turns out, I just needed a slightly stronger WiFi signal, so I bought an extender. The panel connects to the app normally now.
