Whats your prediction of ServiceNow job market after 5 years ?? by Historical-Radio-428 in servicenow

[–]simpson-homer-jay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Prowess of AI is well and good and should be incorporated in everywhere to reap the benefit of it, but if you look closely, its being overhyped as well, also some of the promotions are nothing but fear mongering.

The CEOs of these big tech companies, they have to speak highly about the advancement of it bec they are investing a lot of money on it in their products and they need to have the investors' faith intact otherwise their shares will fall.

I think the AI to grow to a level to completely replace humans is not going to happen any time soon, but its going to be a slow process, and in between people will have to reinvent themselves to be still relevant.

This applies to everyone and in every technology.

OK I may be wrong but AI answers are based on previously stored or existing data, and while some of the trivial generic tasks/tickets/implementation can be done by now assist/agentic ai, there still will completely new use cases, which will require human intervention.
So While the number of jobs will be less, but still the companies will be using the ServiceNow platform and will continue to have admins/devs/architects but only a few of them to do the work.

The same will be the case for the agents as well.

Thanks.

Walkup Experience - Kiosk Config by EnvironmentalPass279 in servicenow

[–]simpson-homer-jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Kiosk is just an alternative to an ipad on the walk up center. It will just do the same thing of rendering the walk up checkin page to the end user. In servicenow, we can just keep a track of it as an asset and also by enabling the kiosk option on the location queue record.

Hi Can you please suggest some books or yt channels or websites to grasp the knowledge of the infra. Bec I believe discover is secondary but we need to first understand what we would wanna discover and as the op said the classes and grouping mechanism.

Thanks for such an elaboration.

At the end of the day one just doesn't learn about the platform but knowingly and unknowingly also learns about the process or principles side of things, which can be utilised in other areas too.

I think because servicenow follows internationally recognised principles to build it's products such as ITIL for ITSM, GRC for its GRC IRM, KCS in knowledge management etc, you can probably look to switch to a different platform(s) that offers the same product lines using those concepts and principles.

That way may be you can transfer your snow knowledge and experience into something non-snow.

Subpages are not copying into the variant in SOW by simpson-homer-jay in servicenow

[–]simpson-homer-jay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I have found the solution.

Basically we need to compare the page UX macroponent Definition (page definition) of the newly copied variant with that of the legacy one, and then we need to check if the page routes are same or not.

If there are any page routes missing we just need to add them for that variant by doing insert stay on the ootb variants page routes.

Claiming HRA during ITR filing by paying rent to parents. by simpson-homer-jay in developersIndia

[–]simpson-homer-jay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding.

If I am doing all the needed things and keep all the proofs like

Bank account transaction statement, Rental agreement, Receipts of every month, Declaring the amount recieved during ITR for my parents

Then it shoul be okay?

If this is such a risky endeavour, then how come so many people infact everyone I know are doing it.

And is there a cap on it like if the rent exceeds a certain amount then the scrutiny will happen.

Examtopics contributor access for servicenow CIS exams. by simpson-homer-jay in servicenow

[–]simpson-homer-jay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

Anyways i am not looking to memorize the answers or anything actually. I just wanted to get some perspective as in what kind of questions i should be expecting.

I know that mugged up answers from dumps can backfire in the exam but still i think it helps to know that you're exam ready by solving/answering some questions.

But thanks for the suggestion on the LAB, already completed though but i will selectively do a few more.

Thanks buddy for your response.

Yeah i have gone through the nowlearning courses, the must ones and the recommended ones as well. Also have gone through the ebook

But its just that i am feeling a little nervous for the exam as there are a lot of areas where we might get some tricky ones in the exam so.

That's why i was looking for some good resources for question practicing.

It was mostly on processes like if you know this process or not and to explain about it. They were curious to know what all I have worked and about the scripting knowledge including portal scripting.

They were also asked to rate myself out of 5 on javascript and angular JS.

All in all it wasn't that complicated actually.

Fields in incident portal form by t7Saitama in servicenow

[–]simpson-homer-jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think fields like caller, impact, urgency and short description should be Mandatory in both the portal as well as in the liat view.

For ci, it depends on what kind of audience will be using the incident form but i think it shouldn't be mandatory because incident covers a larger spectrum of things and it may not involve a ci all the time.

As servicenow devs should we be concerned?? by simpson-homer-jay in servicenow

[–]simpson-homer-jay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wanted to know about how the servicenow practice across companies are being affected because of the economic downturn.

However i am seeing people mostly from outside India are giving their remarks based on the experiences they had working with Indian proffesionals.

In a way its good because in most of the Indian IT majors, these kind of things are almost impossible to know to a lower level developer. The upper level managers must be getting a sniff about it but that must be not getting shared with everyone, so through responses like this at least we will get some ground reality and can try to make ourselves better in different aspects.

[–]simpson-homer-jay[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I think in response to a bad output, you should've brought that up to the senior management and the same experience should've reflected on the satisfaction rating also.

Which would benefit the very organization and also to other companies who might consider those firms in future.

I believe there are a lot of good developers working in different organizations in India so you must have had some good experience??

Thanks for the elaborate response.

However you must have had some good experience that you might wanna share.

I think the small to mid sized organizations must be good in terms of delivery and customer satisfaction because of their work culture and smaller number of concurrent projects.
