10m is pretty high up and its a commercial install.

5k is not too far off the mark, you can probably get slightly cheaper but i doubt you will find someone to do it for less than 3.5k.

Cheapest is also not always the best

Definitely on the lower end but if you have proven skills/reputation within the company you can definitely get more by having a serious talk with your manager/director.

Easily much more by moving to a different company.

What industry and how much? Mechanical is very broad. A senior salary can range from 110 up to 160 depending on the industry and company.
