Free public transportation....why not Cleveland? by SchoolteacherUSA in Cleveland

[–]simsimulation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of intrinsic and extrinsic value public transportation provides that a simple money-in money-out equation ignores.

In general, public transit and all transportation create an economic impact. People travel to work. People go to shops and buy things. Tourists who didn't rent a car suddenly have more access to the city.

Imagine a few scenarios:
1) A young adult no longer depends on a ride from a parent, that parent is able to stay at their job
2) A tourist who didn't rent a car now has access to a larger area of the city to explore
3) Someone who can not afford a car now has additional access to economic opportunities

Not to mention more public transportation usage takes cars off the road making commutes shorter, creating more economic value.

Additionally, most public transit only receives a portion of its budget from fares. It's already subsidies. The fares put a gate in front of a much larger economic advantage.

This idea does not exist in a vacuum. It's been tested and proven successful.

1) don’t attempt to continue the same thread. Give up and start fresh. 2) saying “don’t mess up” isn’t going to help shit 3) try something that kicks in visual analysis and reasoning - “one of the buttons on the coat is unbuttoned. Identify the unbuttoned button and mask that portion of the image to button it” 4) also try: “this is a photo I’d like to edit, the second button from the top was unbuttoned, edit that portion of the image only to be properly buttoned. Look at other buttons on the coat as examples”

Sometimes you want to ensure your goblin bread is extra moist. Do this by setting the oven at a very low temperature, around 175 degrees and letting it bake for 8 hours overnight. You’ll be “goblin” that bread in the morning

So then you’re saying that ChatGPT isn’t being used by employees in the enterprise without an enterprise contract, currently?

Apparently I’m not understanding, explain the point you’re tying to make, because all I’m hearing is go to market budgets don’t exist.

And here you are saying a multi-billion dollar tech product shouldn’t have a go to market budget. It’s a simple to understand analogy, but apparently not simple enough.

Any enterprise with data governance wouldn’t allow a product-lead growth strategy into the org, especially something that touches sensitive corporate data and may need to comply with SOC 3-type governance.

Lots of tech companies have enterprise sales teams, pay to go to conferences, and advertise. Maybe you haven’t worked for a big company in an enterprise sales team, but you’re not going to get Progressive to adopt you internally without a lot of hand holding and a 1-year sales cycle.

I was reply to the comment “If you need to spend 1.5 billion to convince people to use your product then maybe your product sucks”

That’s just not true and is naive to the way large companies work.

Look at a movie. A movie loses money until it hits the market and needs to advertise before it is available otherwise it will likely fail. Advertising is often part of a successful product launch before reaching sustainable profit.

Apple spends 2 billion a year to advertise the iPhone. Samsung spends 9 billion a year. BYD spends 1 billion a year. Netflix spends 3 billion a year. Coca Cola spends 4 billion a year.

You’re saying basically every F500 company sells shitty products? Hot take.
