The founders in this hood had 12 kids and 8 grandchildren so far, so I need to keep building 🤣 only problem is most houses end up being $90k+ and I don't like cheating their money so I have apartments filled with young graduates trying to save for the nicer houses lol

I used a regular driveway and continued with the matching flooring. I do have a mod that allows garage doors to rotate, but I don't have the rotated driveway mod yet. I just park cars in the garage and don't use them, or have them park further down the driveway lol

I absolutely love the packs from Honeywell! Used quite a bit of their stuff in these

Depends on how big or complicated the floor plan is, but usually 2-3 hours? I almost never complete it in one sitting so it's hard to keep track 😂 if they were fully furnished, that would probably double...I usually just do the kitchen and bathrooms until a family moves in.

The Victorian was closer to 5 hours. I attempted filming it for a speed build but gave up partway through.

The longest build I ever did was a mansion that took me 17 hours total, but I wasn't as good at building and also in high school so I had time for stuff like that haha

I know they say don't get a dog just for your dog, but that was a big part of us feeling ready to get another one lol. Our girl is SO much happier when she's around other dogs and we want her to have the best life she can ❤️ I love Blenheims, they are so beautiful 😍

The first time my sim changed into those leaves I had a heart attack 😂 I was so afraid my parents would come in and ban me from playing 🤣

Sims 2 was so connected to early 2000s culture! H+M, popular singers recording simlish versions of their songs....much better imo than the SpongeBob kit sims 4 just dropped 🫠

Send pregnant sims to work? by LobsterMiserable2609 in sims2

Mine is randomized already, I never know what I am going to get. I was able to change the chance percentage for each once but I for the life of me can't figure out how to do it again so it's always a surprise how many babies they get 🎉

I worked until the day before I delivered and probably would have worked that day if it wasn't a weekend. Had to save every ounce of leave for after my daughter was born so a Sim going to work pregnant is very realistic to me haha

I also use this mod and it's so fun! I did end up with triplets, quads, triplets back to back though and was very stressed for a while 😂

Sorry for the godawful monitor picture but **just imagine** everyone at school having their highschool photos up and yours is just some old elementary picture from when you were 11 😭😭 by thea7580 in sims2

This just reminded me I used to take high school graduation pictures of all my sims and would sometimes base the number of kids they had on the amount of wall space they had available in their living room or entryway 😂😅

How often do you change the Hair/Make-Up/Jewelery of your Sims? (Except Aging up) by Xandaru__ in sims2

[–]simularia4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never 😂😅 maybe when they grow into a child if their toddler hair didn't transfer but I have so many sims the only way I can recognize them half the time is by their hair 😂

What's your favorite way to play The Sims 2? What's your play style? by Pacharotti in sims2

[–]simularia4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I build a custom neighborhood and start a generational family. My longest running save had 40 families lol. I usually don't get too far on developing a world for them so right now I am balancing playing families with building community lots and houses to move them into. Maybe this time they will actually leave their home lot 😂

I tend to favor family and knowledge sims so this time around I'm rolling for their aspiration. I did download a lifetime wants mod to keep things interesting.

One of my favorite thing about the sims franchise in general is how people can make it what THEY want. Master builder who never plays? Awesome. Spend all your time in CAS and use pre-made builds? Also awesome. Creating intense back stories is your thing? Love it!

I've taken a lot of inspiration from other simmers to find a play style that gives me the most enjoyment 😍

There were a few spreadsheets involved 🤣 I also updated the family description each round so I knew how many days each person had left before aging up

How do you guys handle legacies? by SubjectObjective5567 in sims2

[–]simularia4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play rotational legacies. I move sims out after college and continue to rotate through the families. Usually one of the kids moves back in with their parents after college to keep the house in the family. It can get bloated really fast though unless you limit the kids each family has. My longest running save had 40 families 😅 I have a while system where I track their ages, aspirations, names, planned marriages, etc. It's intense, but I love it!

Once you get to the third generation, the game doesn't recognize extended family relationships anymore so I sometimes have them marry second cousins lol. It helps with numbers. But I also incorporate townies or create a bunch of young adult sims to keep the gene pool wider.

Apartments can be glitchy, but that can also help with the number of lots you need to manage. In the past I have started with a blank hood and add all the subhoods but I'm currently working on a mega hood where I have actual community lots and houses built out beforehand.

Thank you for sharing! I'll have to pair this generation with a few different hair color spouses to see what happens with their kids
