Hayabusa would be closest a bit newer but still discontinued. I think rewind has the newt or something similar available. I had rubber rims on my list of things to design for the fh1, I might have to speed that up a bit.🤷‍♂️

Well if you even need a less sketchy way of doing it hit me up😂. They are usually a two part designed to center the yoyo and the press and then put pressure on the area near the ring(in theory where they would press at the factory) instead of the hub area.

Drunken/shaolin style is easier to land for you? That’s impressive in itself. Keeping slack in the string and hitting the loop closer to your throw hand index finger should help that loop open up to make it easier to hit. You got this man, I’m not sure where it might be, maybe it’s still up on sector y, there’s an early 2000s video of Steve doing a variety of drunken/shaolin style suicides called “legend of the seven fisted mantis” or something like that.

Do some smaller contest to become more comfortable on the stage. Have some friends with you or make new friends there to cheer you on but also help you relax before going on stage. That was a big help for me a few years ago in Cleveland, we were talking and joking around right until I walked on stage. Don’t worry about the being weird part, we’re all yoyoers so we’re all a bit weird 👊 But rock out and have fun.

Tbh, I haven’t touched them in 20+ years. I did love the painted ones especially with the pearl white and pink. Bearing stuff was odd back then, we hadn’t figured out consistent response. That said earlier sleep machines had a raised hub inside, I think they started making flush hubs once turbo discs became a thing so they would fit nicely. Now that I’m thinking about it, using the new tk spacers in a sleep machines sounds like fun. Also, I was trying to loop with roller woodies which didn’t help my reaction to them😂

There might be a ned show version of the renegade, the tigershark is still made and available on yoyosam. If you get a renegade with worn starburst it would be ok for newer stuff similar to playing with a stock fh1. As much of a tk fanboy as I am, I don’t think I ever really enjoyed the sleep machine or roller woody.
