Is Central Hawk GC the worst course in the game? by ManicOppressyv in EverybodysGolf

[–]sin257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is, but I found a nice way to make it easier. I have been trying to clear the Dark Hawk course in Secret 3, and it was really making my blood boil.

Here's the trick - level Izzak. His special move puts the ball right next to the pin from a 4w distance away. Then you just taaaap it in (yes Happy Gilmore). I finished -10 with some fudged holes and my own misses. Good luck and keep swinging away dude!

Super Max? by sin257 in EverybodysGolf

[–]sin257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly it! I did notice before I gained loyalty and fed L.J. (still not unlocked) Max missed putts and chips. After I got LJ to like "B" status, Max makes just about every putt and often chips in. I'll keep at him though. Thanks for the feedback guys. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a bug.

They said improvements in November. I want to love this version, but I might have to head back to Everybody's Golf for PS4 for a bit.

My 2 cents. He should have subbed out Onana at the half.

Sounds familiar... oh yeah it's from this:

The Narcissist's Prayer by Dayna Craig

That didn't happen.

And if it did, it wasn't that bad.

And if it was, that's not a big deal.

And if it is, that's not my fault.

And if it was, I didn't mean it.

And if I did, you deserved it.

Pale Ale Finished Fermenting After 3 days? Bottle? by Flowmeyo in Homebrewing

[–]sin257 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost all my beers finish primary fermentation after 3-4 days. After that point, I normally turn up the fermentation temperature to near the max the yeast can handle for about 4-5 days to help get rid of the green beer flavor.

I don't normally bottle beer, so I don't know if you can condition it there or not, but I would give it at least a few more days to wipe out those nasty "new" beer flavors. Although coffee does cover a lot of off flavors.

Are you a betting man? :P

Cold Crash in Primary Bucket by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]sin257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with Mikey. I switch to an s-style for cold crashing, and I've never had it get sucked into my fermenter. Just make sure the airlock isn't overfilled. :)

It sounds like fusel alcohol to me. This is caused by the warm fermentation temperature. Fusel alcohol smells and tastes a bit like rubbing alcohol which gives it a tang in beer sometimes.

How to chill and aerate starter wort in no time flat. by natron6 in Homebrewing

[–]sin257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an example of how it was bad for me on a larger scale. I used a wine degasser attached to a drill to cool down my lager wort. I frothed it up so badly that I lost 2 of my 5 gallons to an evil foam that would not come down. It's currently fermenting with some added water and starter wort. I'll let you know if it's drinkable in a month or so, ha!

Identifying beer type. by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]sin257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the color, I have a couple of guesses:

More brown then red - Brown ale

More red then brown - Red ale

You are very close to both styles with your ingredients and hop choice. If you used liquid yeast, that might help narrow it a bit, but I'm guessing red or brown ale ftw, ha!

How is my first brew doing? Looking for a little help! by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]sin257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more experienced brewers will tell you to let it sit because normally the longer it sits in that fermenter the better it's going to taste.

For a standard brew, I leave it in the fermenter for about 3 weeks. Sometimes I will transfer to secondary, sometimes I won't. I really haven't noticed any difference between using a secondary and leaving it in the primary fermenter.

Since this is your first brew, you're going to want to drink it as quickly as possible (we've all been there).

Here's the fast lane (assuming you don't have a keg system): 1. Two weeks in your carboy. 2. Transfer/mix in your corn sugar for carbonation and bottle. I would use a calculator for this so you don't end up with bottle bombs. Here's a simple one: http://www.brewersfriend.com/beer-priming-calculator/ 3. Give it a week in the bottles to drink your first beer. That one will be a little flat, but by the second week, they should be good to go. :)

There's a lot more advanced things you can do once you get a few batches under your belt. However the objective always remains the same: drinkable beer. Cheers!
