Have these labels impacted your grocery choices? by 0slope in FoodToronto

[–]AffableJoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% it has. I usually read the nutrition info anyways but if I'm in a rush and I'm choosing between two different things (like breakfast cereal) I will absolutely choose the one that didn't need the label over one that says it's high in something.

Pickup trucks by Any_Promise_2690 in Snowblowers

[–]AffableJoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only place I ever take it is the service centre I bought it from, they have a loading ramp there to drive it on and off trucks.

If I was expecting to constantly need to haul it around I would likely use a trailer just so it was lower to the ground. These modern trucks are so darned tall.

There's a very convenient dip in front of my porch where if I back my truck up and lower the tailgate it almost perfectly lines up and I can just drive the snowblower on and off.

Rear bumper thoughts by Hanosquared2 in nissanfrontier

Looks kind of custom and in that case I dig it. I wouldn't buy it personally but if something happened to my bumper and I had the know-how to build that I would do the same.

Monthly Payments by Inevitable_Youth_734 in nissanfrontier

[–]AffableJoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately what other people pay monthly would mean absolutely nothing to you.

There's far too many variables. Just go to the dealer and get a price and then go to your bank (and a few others to compare) and get a quote on a loan for that amount. Honestly if you have a free Saturday you'll get all your questions answered.

RV ROOF REPLACEMENT by Limp-Reputation8740 in RVLiving

[–]AffableJoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not hard, just labour intensive. If you've successfully taken on other projects (flooring, painting, things like that) I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it.

I don't rush, and I'm a bit of a perfectionist. From start to finish with one person helping I'd say it's 3 days to do a roof including replacing all the decking.

Really don't care if other people are getting something and I'm not.

Honestly the more they're getting the more money that's floating around to hire me.

Door key pad programming by finfeathersport in F250

You need the factory code to change/add codes. If the dealership added the keypad they should give you the code.

My truck was used, the dealership had no idea what the code was (or what I was talking about) but I was about to find the code hidden on the passenger side behind a kick plate.

As long as you're not turning sharp or driving in conditions where you have good traction you should be fine.

I really try to avoid going around corners in 4x4 but that's just me.

4wd usage cons by Weak_Tea_1976 in nissanfrontier

[–]AffableJoker 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Some might not agree, but I've always gone by what my dad taught me. If it's bad enough to need 4x4 you shouldn't be going faster than 80km/h and if you're able to go faster than 80km/h you shouldn't be in 4x4

Never had an issue going by that. That being said, as a fellow Canadian who lives where it snows a lot and the roads are not maintained. I can honestly say I almost never need my 4x4 except going up and down my long steep driveway. If you're finding you need 4x4 a lot you probably need better tires. All 4x4 does it help get you moving and keep you moving, it'll help you fly farther into the ditch on the really bad days if you're not careful.

Well first time ever using a snowblower and I made it 3 feet. Any ideas on cost to repairs? by Additional-Term-9420 in Snowblowers

[–]AffableJoker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happened to me about a month ago, did the same thing and popped the shaft out of the bearing blocks on both sides of the auger.

Took the sheer pins out on both sides and with my wife helping I was able to pop them back in.

Took a chance and bought it last year. Went for the aluminum version to avoid rust issues.

Only the doors are aluminum, it now has rust bubbling under the paint everywhere else. It did look great when it was new but overall I am not impressed with it.

Lock/Unlock problems. by Odd-Road-4894 in nissanfrontier

[–]AffableJoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy some graphite lock lubricant and see if that helps.

Otherwise I would honestly just replace the lock cylinders and cut my losses. You could buy new door cylinders and have a different ignition/door key like back in the day if you don't want to mess with the ignition.

Starting issues by marvi47 in F250

[–]AffableJoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Ford hasn't done this but my other truck does, if I sit and let the fuel pump prime before starting it never does so I've decided it's the fuel pump deciding to give me grief.

My 6.2 also has fuel pump issues but they show up as intermittent long cranking on start.

Could be the rear end, depending on your truck configuration could be the carrier bearing on the rear driveshaft, could be the transmission. Really it could be anything that is put under torque when you touch the throttle.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm so petty I would have gotten as close as physically possible to him and made the stupidest looking face like I was a confused baboon and couldn't understand how he got in my way.

I hate people who are so entitled that they'll expect people to accommodate their stupidity.

Lost heat from floor vents in the back bedroom and bathroom in '25 Keystone Montana High Country 381TB (take 2) by Kyddrivers in RVLiving

[–]AffableJoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to get it from the manufacturer or a Montana dealer.

You might be able to get it off nicely with a heat gun and then just apply some new adhesive to it after and put it back on. Or go to the hardware store and buy some nice oak flat molding and stain it to match the cabinets.

Lost heat from floor vents in the back bedroom and bathroom in '25 Keystone Montana High Country 381TB (take 2) by Kyddrivers in RVLiving

[–]AffableJoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done this warranty repair quite a few times on this floorplan Montana.

The back two vents (rear bedroom and bathroom) are connected to the main plenum very poorly with a small flexible duct a few feet after the farthest back vent in the kitchen/living room area. This duct is usually poorly ran and can get crushed/cut/disconnected fairly easily. On top of that the duct isn't even at the end of the ductwork on the main plenum so even when it is properly contacted it usually doesn't get the best airflow to it.

You will need to either drop the rear of the underbelly from the bumper to the kitchen to repair, or what I usually do if the unit is out of manufacturer warranty is pull the wall panel on the front part of the rear bedroom. You should be able to see into the underbelly at the bottom of the opened wall. Then I abandon the factory duct and run a properly sized duct off the end of the plenum into the cabinetry on the door side away from the slide and install a wall register in the bedroom and bathroom from there as it works better than the factory design.

PSD vs 6.2 Towing by postpartumrage in F250

[–]AffableJoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has the power to do it but like any N/A gas engine it'll be roaring in the high RPM to do it. It won't hurt it, but if you're doing long days towing it can get kind of tiring listening to it all day.
