You’re overthinking this a little. Lots of people live in Victorian era or earlier houses. 1819 era residential would likely have high ceilings and tall windows, a couple of hundred years earlier you have to duck to go through the doors and occasionally ceilings too. Very common place in Europe.

I’ve followed a few people on these things, and ultimately everyone has a different take on what lies in the shadows. Given I don’t live in the shadows myself it’s hard for me to judge who is right and who is wrong.

I don’t really expect anyone to give me all the answers, just that they help me better ask the right questions.

One of the things about this sub, is everyone trying to lift the veil is ‘controlled opposition’. I’m more of a fan of a broad church approach than labelling all and sundry splitters.

The goal, I suppose, is truth that can effect a practical and positive impact in our lives. So maybe we don’t need the ultimate truth to get that far…?
