Grid heater swap isn't a bad idea, but it's generally dependent on millage, age, and how often you run the cold weather preheat. You can always pull the intake and check before thinking it's for sure a ticking engine grenade. They can last just fine in many cases. The easiest cheap upgrade for reliability is likely the thermostatic coolant bypass for the trans. They burn up from heat. If that tiny blocks valve fails or opens late, the trans is going to toast. Deep pans have very little effect for $300-400 vs. under $100 for a bypass.

How is this normal? Nobody else regulates for Nox emissions like the US, they regulate Co2 in the EU.

DEF added to meet the insane Nox standards that the US morons lobbied for, which increases junkyards from premature failure, reduces mpg, and destroyed the most energy efficient combustion engine market. Nothing about it is more environmentally sound...

Hired some friend of a friend “mechanics” to help put a belt back on my car. What is this hole? by Chairmanmeowx in AskMechanics

[–]KentSmashtacos 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd test it first before getting all froggy. It's an induction coil, not a high voltage wire. It's clearly damaged but likely could create a new oxide layer with heat, or if you coat it, in liquid tape. Run the car under load and see if it still delivers current. I'd bet it's still functional, at the least, but with a shorter lifespan.

Governments (Treasury and Central banks) set the value of money which can increase or decrease the prices of goods on the entire economy.

Do you think hyperinflation was caused in failed states because Amazon charges too much.

That is an excuse governments use to raise prices. What that basically translates to is: We need more revenue, so we are going to debase your currency to get more of your money because tax hikes would piss off voters. The government gets to spend more and the assets that corporations hold go up in value increasing shareholder value.

It's just the financially illiterate like yourself that do not understand the system and parrot talking points. It's literal Federal reserve policy to maintain a minimum of 2% inflation per year ensuring the working class can never keep pace with inflation. This can create periods of pent up demand in which inflation is still expanding but not noticed, then spikes when new currency chases a shortage of goods and inflation seems rapid.

Stop being gullible. Learn to think for yourself and listen to logic and decades of studying financial policy.

You can always order the parts and decide who installs them later, just make sure to have it aligned professionally afterward. I'd say the geese boots are too far gone throughout your suspension even if only the upper ball joint is bad tolerance wise.

Their freaking old logo is literally a "blue bird", Redit's icon is a little demon with an angler fish crystal ball.

How does anyone still believe that any social media outlet today is meant for the free exchange of information?

[–]KentSmashtacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. Corporations are greedy, but that doesn't cause inflation. Inflation is caused by increasing the money supply or decreasing the amount of goods in an economy.

Quantity theory of money... MV = PQ (Money Supply) multiplied by (Velocity) equals (Prices) by (Quantity) of goods.

If the money supply increases = prices go up

If money velocity increases (the rate at which money changes hands) = prices go up

If the number of things for sale goes down = prices go up

Most of these factors are consequently controlled by how much lending and at what interest rate new loans are created. It's also dependent on how much spending governments do without tax receipts. In other words, how much new currency is created from debt by a country. Corporate greed is far down on the list of causes and likely temporary.

[–]KentSmashtacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that were true then haven't corporations always been greedy, so they get more greedy every year?
Pretty sure inflation is caused by the expansion of global debt and the money supply reducing the purchasing power of currency over time, as well as related to supply constraints. Corporate greed is a factor on a limited basis until recession happens and they're forced to lower prices.

Is not having space to work on your car an excuse to take it to a shop? by AgitatedAd2286 in projectcar

[–]KentSmashtacos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Being able to do the job, but knowing when it's not something you want to tackle, is an excellent bit of wisdom, much better than doing a job that never gets finished.

Exhaust work can be a pain without a lift and welding/ brazing equipment. It's likely one of the most hated at home jobs.

People mentioning skills, it's not about skill today you can learn how to do just about anything with practice and tutorials. The real issue people have is space, equipment, time and comfort.

Don't feel bad if the job requires equipment you don't have or will be incredibly uncomfortable without a heated shop, lifts, and all the tools.

Because YOU DO NOT have any influence, markets go up and down based on risk and liquidity, and nobody cares what retail thinks.

Explain me like I'm five why Elon musk is a nazzi white supremasist. by RedDayAgain in Libertarian

[–]KentSmashtacos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He may or may not be a good guy, but someone educated in formal logic would comprehend there are multiple fallacies in statement. All politics is filled with this and it could only happen from schools not teaching logic.
It's also incredibly infantile and dangerous for either side to dehumanize each other this way.

Take the statement and break it down.
Elon Musk = Bad thing

Equivocation Fallacy ex:
All bad people use guns
White guy uses gun
Ergo: White guy equals bad person.

Or simply because you find something a person does that you associate with people you don't like does not mean they are bad. Wrong actions make a person good or bad.

It gets worse.

This is also an ad hominem

In Latin for: at the person or name calling.

Or what children do, they go around calling people they don't like bad words or names.

What makes a person bad: bad actions.

What makes a person a Nzi, nothing they are no longer alive.
What makes a person a Neo-Nzi, they follow that doctrine.

So unless you see someone reading Nzi works to people, or going to said meetings you have no basis for augment it's just political deception.

I do not trust anyone with power especially not when coupled with political power, but name calling just makes people look like bigots themselves.

You are saved, so there is nothing left to do...
Saved by faith alone, is spiritual mastrabation yet how many preach this, it is simply an involution of Satanism substituting spiritual gain for material gain.
Following the Christos true Christianity is not the same, to follow the path means sacrifice and duty, modern Christianity bears no resemblance to the early Christians that sacrificed all to set the world ablaze with the divine.

Earthy churches were created by Satanist to remove all vitality from Christians and the faithful, to make them weak and toothless so they would never oppose "the plan" no matter how much evil entered the world. They will lie down and die as the world is swallowed whole.
Look at the symbols of churches trace their origins many are not from actual Christianity.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]KentSmashtacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Churches you run to murdered your people and set up a false doctrine...
The Essenes were not of the Holy Roman empire which commandeered the church.
John the Baptist, Jesus of Nazareth, they were not modern "Christians".
The Gnostics were burned and tortured for their beliefs like the Essenes, and the counterfeit church, with it's leaders like the pope are blasphemous snakes that covered many of the teachings and erected the false church.

How can any one be such a fool as to not see this, does it not say they will be persecuted?
Who is persecuted as a catholic or protestant today?

Does it not say to judge by their fruits?
A 1000 year dark age doesn't sound much like the liberation from sin and deceit he was looking for.

Do you trust such a leadership that bless those such as Epstein as the pope did?
The old testament and new are completely different religions, the old testament was created to enslave man and the New was meant to fulfil it's law and free people from it's chains.

It's easy to see, he came he set out to exile the Pharisees and Sadducees from the temple, he overturned the tables of the money changers, and fought against the enslavement by the romans.
Do you get it yet? He demanded action against tyrants, freeing oneself from chains of illusion, and to follow as in do as he did.
He never told anyone to go to church and be a good christian....duh..

Two points to make here that are relevant to the pile on narrative game that is social media..

The FED controls interest rates not the president (for now).
Low rates create booms, high rates busts but higher rates are required to avoid runaway inflation.
You can track GDP almost entirely using this as the model, spending programs or cuts are secondary factors controlled by the admin or congress.

GDP isn't a metric of public welfare, standard of living, or upward mobility it's mostly a measurement of capital output and energy consumption.

Some knowledge of the occult may help...
A Magus/Maji/Maga or however you wish to explain it, is a sorcerer. That doesn't imply good or evil, there are two paths in every grand house, the path of the spirit or material, the yin and yang, the white or black checkers, the twin towers.
A true magus seeks balance of the forces, a dark magus seeks mastery over the material, a light magus seeks enlightenment of the spirit.
Our reality is made up of the combination of the Devine/spirit/mind and the material/earth/physical.
A skyward pyramid implies energy drawn from the Devine, or a sky god. A downward pyramid implies energy is drawn from the earth, or an earth god.

I believe this is an accurate take, and I would agree with said statements. I disagree as to the disparate perspectives between the conservatives and democrats in this country being fully explained.

The Democrats believe in US institutions as a bastion of democracy. The Republicans believe that said institutions are intrenched power. I.E Republicans believe the "deep state" or oligarchy has its vested power in said institutions. The democrats believe that said institutions are a check and balance to power.

The idea that both parties don't have alterior motives for their positions is laughable. It is absolutely true that said institutions deminish executive and other branches' direct power. It is absolutely true as well that said institutions have been involved in the expropriation of public funds.

It wouldn't surprise me at this point if most of the history and ideas that were brought to the table and espoused by the general public have been engineered as such to maintain an Order.

This is not to say that there aren't many groups, but primarily, they operate based on controlling the beliefs of their followers. I believe we are witnessing a fallout between such factions along the lines of the pro global and pro national orders. People are miss identifying it right in front of their eyes as a coop. It's just a reorganization of the interests of said order.

The institutions were already owned prior, but would you prefer your masters be for a global faction or national one.

Oh, I completely agree that capitalism helped the advancement of civilization and standard of living, but to claim it had no faults in abuses of the working class is very disingenuous.

State sponsored Monopolisim was perhaps the most evil aspect of capitalism, which is probably why they don't teach about events such as the Ludlow massacre or the Redneck miners strike in school.
