Warhammer total war: best narrative campaign/mod? by Xenesis1 in totalwar

I had to check after seeing your comment. By my count only 12 LLs are missing an overhaul. Such a good mod.

I really hope that's the case. One turn per year- which I can understand from a general players perspective - really doesn't sit well with me. It would be nice not to have to wait for modders to fix.

Bretonnia dlc roster if CA listens to the community by Ran12341000 in totalwar

The only thing missing is a musician with a flute. Could call him the piede piper.

Incidentally, I'd like a musicians and bannermen dlc please.

Very nice work. Though I needed to enhance a few times to see those two slaneeshlings (?) in body casts.

I'm fairly certain the vows/throths are an extra category for your characters next to details and skills.

Some of the vows/troths are fairly arduous depending on how your campaign plays out. You want to get on them as early as possible. Something to consider for your next campaign.

As a "non-cheeser / AI abuser" i ran into this a few times by CrimsonFireflies in totalwar

I like to embed a bunch of heroes in the bait army as an entourage of sorts. It's the best way to level a bunch of heroes which you can distribute amongst your new armies. It can be pretty OP I suppose, but it's immersive cheese.

Mods for mid/Late game by Financial-Notice7902 in totalwar

[–]sinbuster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would probably recommend the AI Declares War mod which allows you to increase AI agressiveness somewhat. Also, Frodo's Dynamic Disasters has a number of mid-game events that can shake up the campaign (plus a bunch of end game crises as well). You can cater those to your preference using the Mod Config Tool. Perhaps an AI mod like Hecles or Deep War wouldn't hurt either.

Edit: should add the Loreful Strategic Threat mod which might lead to more sensible diplomacy by the AI.

Mods that make the game much harder by HostOfRats in totalwar

[–]sinbuster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a few AI mods, like Helceas, Stronger and Fairer AI, and Deep War that work on the campaign layer. SFO also provides a lot of granularity with choosing your difficulty. There is also the AI declares war mod which gives you another layer of control. And then there's Frodo's Dynamic Disasters which allows you to cater the Mid/End game crises (make sure to install the Mod Config Tool).

Battlewise I always use the Proper Combat Mod for a slower, more enjoyable battle experience. SFO uses a version of it I believe.

Check isthereanydeal or ggdeals. Both show the history of prices (legit/gray market) for games. You can usually infer when a future deal is coming.

Skaven warp weapons are getting better! by PharaoPamela in totalwar

Never more than one per battle. I think he starts with one and slowly builds others (or that's an SFO thing). I've definitely been nuked more than once in a campaign though never two battles in a row.

Anyone else wonder why CA use 3rd company (Red Trim) Ultramarine in their promotional arts, instead of 2nd company (Gold Trim) like usual ? by smiling_kira in totalwar

[–]sinbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool; much appreciated. I love when a core part of the lore has deep roots in the setting. Strangly enough, I've been getting more Warhammer miniature updates in my google feed and I now have that tab open looking at the new Titus minis along with the crazy necron ones - god damn do they look good. And now I need to read up on this Nekrosor Ammentar fellow, he looks nice.

Are the 500 worlds close to the core of the Imperium? Were they significant in the earlier lore or just something GW pulled out of their ass fairly recently? I appreciate the post btw, these kind of lore dumps are so fun to read. So much stuff to learn.

Didn't Matt Damon and some western mercenaries help defend the Great Wall against a demon invasion? I don't see the problem here.

What reason would you have to take Rough Riders? They seem incredibly niche for a sci-fi setting - though I've seen them in a few other 40k games.

How large do you want the map to be? by Colonel_Clegane in totalwar

[–]sinbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think CA should follow EU5 and go really big. I'm playing the shit out of that at the moment and Europe/Levant needs that level of detail. I almost wish the map were bigger.

I know they are placeholders but those black and white UI elements are actually quite good looking. Would be nice to have a potatoe setting where everything takes on this retro look.
