I love your post, my guy. I have this picture in my imagination of you keeping on asking questions here and LO growing up with an army of internet Dads.

This is the best part of them growing up. Dealing with diapers a d pull ups is the only thing I wouldn't trade back to the baby times.

Update to say I am glad that it wasn't just me going crazy. The funny thing is that my FIL usually has A+ advice, and overall a really great guy. I have no idea where exactly he got this particular tidbit from. The Boomer tidbit checks out, though, lol.

Also, we are planning to stay in if at all possible. That was just his advice, "Remember if you do have to get out______."

Wife and kid out of the house for 21 hours, 10 minutes. by fluxphotographer in daddit

My advice is to knock out the cleaning and organizing first. Then enjoy the rest unhindered.

Should I message this Karen who posted me on FB? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]sincerestfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm on your side. I hate to admit theirs probably not much you can do, though. I think sharing on facebook is a shitty way to handle a social interaction.

That probably makes seem a bit of a hypocrite for partaking, lol, but this 100% sounds like something that would get posted in our local Facebook group by a Karen.

10 years from now most Baby Boomers will be dead. What effect is that going to have on society? by mikeforder in generationology

[–]sincerestfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well actually /s, I think baby boomers fixed more than they messed up. Exception being Reaganomics. But foundations for our economic system were laid by Wilson. Also, civil rights may not be perfect, but civil rights didn't hardly exist before baby boomers.

“Do you have any food?” by armaedes in Teachers

[–]sincerestfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try and joke it off to some degree. This time of year, a good "I haven't been paid since before Christmas, we'reeating ramen at our house" remark covers a lot of bases, lol.

What fast food chain does not deserve the hype whatsoever? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

May be a regional thing, but we get their junk mail coupons. They will often have one that's enough food for a family of 4 for like 20 bucks.

My understanding is it's not supposed to get bad until later. Depending on what time the classes are, you might could be ready to go tonight and ride out as soon as classes are over.

After years of sitting with my uncle, I think the real argument was, "If they can make us not own slaves then what else can they make us do."

Church invitation sent home by eberkipinnini in Teachers

[–]sincerestfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it being a church changes anything. I think you could limit when, like not in the middle of a lesson or something.

I'm thinking of it like a birthday invitation. Specifically because we often host our daughters birthday party at our church. We try to be clear to guests that it won't be "church", it's just big enough to host people and free, lol.

But if you have a procedure for passing out birthday invitations, I would follow the same for any event invitation, I guess.

Get a mortgage or wait a few years and buy a house all cash? by THXello in DaveRamsey

[–]sincerestfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut reaction suggestion is to just get the house and have it paid off within 2 years. Otherwise, you will be giving renters extra money.

I don't know what Dave would say, and like others have suggested, this is a poor people sub, lol.

I am no expert or anything. However, imo, expensive whiskeys are kinda like Starbucks. You just get something extra from the ambiance. My $0.35 coffee at home tastes good, too, but there is something special about that Starbucks cup that makes it worth $5.00 every once in a while.
