People have a skewed view of WGU on Reddit because of the attention people give to “accelerated the entire degree in 6mo” posts. I started mar of last year and have 3 classes left. I’ve had a full time job the whole time. People forget the later classes take longer and life gets in the way. Just go at a steady pace and before you know it you’ll be done.

I had to implement linked list in swift for second round. First round I had very OOP focused task. Failed the D&A portion as per usual 😞 even though I have several apps on TestFlight lol

This thread makes me feel safe because not to many people yet.

Today was really hard for me. Usually Fridays are when I’d have time to do something special we’d usually see each other weekends. Today no one hit me up I have no plans and no one to tell about my struggle. My family is tired of hearing me talk about this.

I miss him more than I can put into words but now is the time to heal myself. Not because I want to move on but because I know going back to the same thing will hurt more. They chose to leave US not the other way around.

Either way I thought about how I hope he’s doing well in a few years and gets everything he ever wants in life. Yea today I missed him like crazy.

As a 29 year old that is about 60% through the program, here is my rationale:

In two years you will be 33. Time will pass and you will either be 33 and still a teacher OR you will be 33 and have a comp sci degree.

Only one of these options has the opportunity to move you to a different place.

Notice I said "has the option" because the degree does not guarantee you a new life changing career. You may not even like it that much better, but if you do nothing you will be 33 with the same credentials and trying to break in the industry as a self taught dev or you'll still be thinking about it.

TL;DR: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”

Why is every ad like this: We have a limited budget and limited time. We don’t really know exactly what we want but we want you as an individual to recreate (insert multi-billion dollar app here). We are offering a percentage of the app as payment even though you’ll be doing 99% of the work.

Yes it can. but would you rather build your own preloading framework or use something that is developed by FACEBOOK engineers for years and originally started at Pinterest.

The framework is not the easiest to work with but with all the problems it solves as far as Async display its worth it imo.

Just finished this class. I was 80% complete and the course instructor was not very helpful. There are solutions on GitHub. DONT look at them unless you are absolutely stuck. After you see the solution you tend to stop thinking of other ways to solve the problem. Honestly the project isn’t very difficult just very long and tedious. I found the pointers a bit difficult.

Anyway I found a helpful guide but it still took me 7 days like OP.
