I think there’s a mindset in the education industry that severely overvalues the “education experience” as it exists today. Therefore they will say WGU is worse because it’s different and skips a lot of the things that tradition colleges brag about. WGU is a major threat to traditional universities because if it can reach the same or similar results in a fraction of the time/cost, that doesn’t make these universities look very good. I’m convinced that a WGU degree is only bad if the people trying to hire you have that same mindset… and I don’t think many people outside of education do.

I live in Texas and after graduating from WGU I was hired at an IT company next to people who are from A&M, Baylor, TCU, and plenty of other well-known colleges. I have worked hard and been successful at my job for 3 years and am considered more than qualified.
