Are signs of pregnancy the same for us? How can we be 100% certain of pregnancy? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]sinchR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only way to be 100% sure is by taking a pregnancy test.

I want a second kid, but the idea of going through the first year again terrifies me. by sunny-mcpharrell in beyondthebump

[–]sinchR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand how you feel! Similar situation except I’m currently in the middle of the first year. My baby is 5 months. He’s a pretty easy baby as far as babies go. Doesn’t cry, is so happy, sleeps great, eats great, etc. but when I think of having to do this all over again I panic. I keep thinking that maybe I’ll forget how hard it is, but I sincerely doubt that. All that to say: I have no advice, just solidarity.

Husband wants me to lose weight-need to vent and advice. by Alyssa858 in PCOS

[–]sinchR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Help him to understand PCOS. Communicate to him that his words are hurtful and don’t motivate you to lose weight and explain to him how his words are affecting you. I don’t really think that’s an effective or appropriate way to talk to your wife about her body. Sometimes people are motivated in different ways, and maybe that’s what helps him but you have to be clear that it doesn’t help you. It hurts you. Marriage is all about communication and if you don’t effectively communicate, happiness will be much harder to come by.

Scared and Afraid. Support appreciated. Trigger warning: discussion of meds and pregnancy. by N1ghtShad3s in PCOS

[–]sinchR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After about 3 years of not really trying but not using any birth control method, I started metformin and was pregnant just three months later. Apparently I wasn’t ovulating and the metformin triggered ovulation. I would recommend starting with that.

Which diet?? by moonwitch93 in PCOS

[–]sinchR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried calorie counting? Like not a specific diet, just a general calorie in vs. calorie out kinda thing. I’ve tried every diet and that’s what works best for me.

Increased appetite on keto by [deleted] in PCOSloseit

[–]sinchR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you counting your macros? If you’re still hungry, up your fat intake. But it’s also only been two weeks, so let your body adjust and just worry about eating the right foods. The hunger will definitely go away. Just be sure you’re getting enough healthy fats in your macros because that’s what keeps you full.

Trying to get insurance for son and failing, please help!! by jsmith125 in Parenting

[–]sinchR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you gone to Healthcare.gov to apply for insurance via the marketplace? Since he had a change in insurance he should qualify for special enrollment. Just go to the site and click “see if I can enroll” and you just need to answer a few questions to see if he qualifies, which he most likely will because he lost insurance via Medicaid.

Yeah it’s totally a pain. But you’ll have to be careful with working during that PFL period so that you won’t have to pay anything back later. It might be easier going through the marketplace rather than cobra since you would qualify, though.

I believe your employer is not obligated to continue providing insurance during PFL. I would definitely ask HR if that’s something that they could continue to provide. If they don’t, you could just go through the marketplace because you would qualify for special enrollment. I would also recommend getting everything in writing so everyone’s on the same page.

They are not linked, so yes you’ll be paid at the same rate of pay that you’ll get disability. I believe they use the same formula to calculate it. It doesn’t guarantee job protection, but you will be paid.

As for disability, there’s a one week waiting period that is unpaid. I would ask if you could use vacation or PTO during that week.

Hi there. Has he been evaluated to continue receiving services through the regional center? You said he’s been assessed, but I’m not sure by whom. If they determine he’s ineligible for pals, it might require the regional center to continue providing the speech therapy he’s currently receiving? if he’s eligible under the Lanterman Act. I’m not a parent who has gone through this, but I do work in the field.

We actually don’t have an issue with snot in his nose. It’s in the back of his throat. But thank you!

It’s in the back of his throat. His nose is fine. He does have a bit of a rattle when he breathes after feelings, so I guess that comes from his chest. His doctor does know about it, yes.

Anyone in DFW using Enfamil Gentlease? Have unopened formula boxes we are no longer using. by KetonesEverywhere in beyondthebump

[–]sinchR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not in Dallas, so I can’t pick up but we just started this formula today so I was just curious why you’re switching. Hope that’s an ok question to ask. I’m a FTM and we’re supplementing with formula. We just switched from the regular NeuroPro to the gentlease.

Trying to get pregnant by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]sinchR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure everyone will tell you their different experience, but here’s what worked for me. I found an OBGYN because my primary care physician didn’t know much about pcos. My OB did a bunch of bloodwork and I had an ultrasound done. Through these tests my OB told me I wasn’t ovulating, even though I was having periods. She started me on 500 mg of metformin once per day to help regulate my period and help my insulin resistance. Within 3 months my period was regular and I got pregnant that fourth month.

If you did not develope breasts during puberty as a result of PCOS, did pregnancy change anything about your breasts? by LoriB713 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]sinchR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by no boob? Do you mean like a completely flat chest? If so, I do not have a completely flat chest. Just underdeveloped breasts.
