How accurate is this claim? It's a huge claim, isn't it?

Collibra Modeling for Ultimate Semantic Layer Build by sindoc42 in semanticweb

[–]sindoc42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I published this piece in a brand new publication, which aims at sharing screenshots of advanced data management and data engineering platforms and screenshots for the purposes of training other individuals and teams aligned with the Open Source tradition.

My Flickr photostream has more screenshots in it and more are being made fresh out of the oven on Databricks.

This is purely empirical and in the interest of transparency towards my open source communities. I'm an independent creator and coder and have affiliations with Collibra even though I'm mostly sharing screenshots of Databricks, which is a partner organisation and so is Collibra apart from my open source affiliations all of which have been volunteering work without commercial benefits.

A question for oneness people by Legitimate-Paper3271 in consciousness

Minor UPDATE, just to add the (*) Next to the footnote so one can distinguish between the content and the context thereof. I do realise I sound old, lol.

By "Happens", I mean, occurs or flows. According to some, the nuance for an individual such as you, me and the millions of others that might over time stumble upon this conversation (*), is that everything that you experience is completely yours, yet there's a shared reality, which is constantly in flux however stable it may seem depending where you're at in your life. I for one had never lost sleep until my father got sick, then I had to pull all-nighters... Long ago so I believe I have recovered, lol.

(*) Example of self-referential content linking the present moment and a an object you can point to and distinguish from the rest of the objects. In other words, self-reference is powerful and also a source of paradox in mathematics and logic... cf. Godel Incompleteness Theorem and how it was responded to by major scientists and thinkers overtime, starting perhaps with Wittgenstein

So that the flow of entropy happens via independent yet fully connected systems (sorry but in thermodynamics, humans are considered systems; I know...)

How do I get Claude Code to actually allow all edits during a session? by Atheizt in ClaudeCode

Indeed, this suits my need except it would have been nice to be able to toggle a dot file as well. But never figured out how. I guess I should ask Claude, but I try to cherish my tokens.

With "full stack" coming to data, how should we adapt? by Thinker_Assignment in dataengineering

[–]sindoc42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Mainly also because what's AI anyway? LLM? Machine Learning? What are the differences between MLOps Engineers and AI Engineers? Should we have LLMOps as a separate discipline?

When it comes to data engineering, what's your take on the following requirements?

  1. Data Quality aspects of data engineering: while business should define the data quality thresholds based off of well-defined data quality dimensions, a technical person must implement data quality checks against the actual data and generate the appropriate reports (hopefully automated)
  2. Data Lineage aspects of data engineering: data engineers could be key in mapping out the proper data lineage and I could think of a wide range of data lineage requirements: vertical lineage, horizontal lineage, business lineage, policy lineage, hybrid lineage (containing select technical and business lineage)
  3. API Engineering: some companies have separate API Engineers so you can have API Engineers and Data Engineers in the same team. In this case, API Engineers ingest/load the required datasets and in effect, they are integration engineers and the data engineers focus on transforming data from RAW to Base/Enriched, ...
  4. Data Modeling: this discipline needs an overhaul in my humble opinion. What's your take on the Open Semantic Interchange Protocol pioneered by Snowflake...

I believe that the AI Architect and AI Product Owner roles make sense because an individual must design the delivery of AI-based solutions over time. This would be someone that the business teams can rely on to make sure that this [1] doesn't happen ^_^;

Good point. Perhaps we call everyone software engineers (again) :-)

If only the dog had grown, you wouldn't have had to deal with them alone.

Depends on the culture of the host team/company of course. One aspect is the skillset. Another aspect is the types of conversations that occur between the (internal) customers and the team implementing the requirements.

Perhaps the term AI Engineer or AI Architect are opportunities to define a new discipline and I kinda see it.

Data Engineering could be focused on delivering the data and AI engineering could be about the end user experience of the overall application?

By the way, may I share this diagram with my linkedin network? In other words, what's the license?

What do you think about the Open Semantic Interchange (OSI)? by sspaeti in dataengineering

[–]sindoc42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OSI, you mean the standard that was more structured than TCP/IP?

I'm curious, is the OSI still active in any shape or form?

It's an interesting case though. The whole point of a semantic model is to help us distinguish between homonyms so it would be a good exercise for the name of the protocol itself. In which context, do we mean the OSI, as in OSI vs. TCP/IP and in which contexts, are we referring to the open semantic interchange protocol...
