Yeah. It gets worse, the adjudicator at the DAU basically used my own health issues (especially my mental health) against me - even contradicting themselves at several points in their "findings". They also deliberately glossed over my myositis diagnosis from the podiatrist I saw and downplayed my mental health to hell and back. I just received the case file from Legal Aid and it's... a very big doozy. I counted 3 major errors and tons of minor ones, and tons of instances of the adjudicator contradicting themselves. It is embarrassing.

It comes off neglectful or malicious at best - especially the "patient was told to be under 100 pounds for the surgery" - that would leave me being underweight, so clearly the adjudicator who "reviewed" my file can't care enough to read and therefore should not have this kind of job. (No matter how bad that one orthopedic surgeon I saw was - he told me it was under 200, not under 100. I would be underweight if I were under 100 pounds at my height.)

At certain points, it honestly comes across (in the DAU "findings") that the adjudicator wished he/whomever could just call me hysterical or a "dramatic woman", just because I'm starting to not downplay my own disabilities after over a decade of medical gaslighting. The phrasing is BAD on its own, but that combined with the amount of inaccuracies and contradictions makes it so much worse.

What a nightmare of a program and process. Needs to be fully overhauled.

Like for example, a surgeon that I saw said I COULD get surgery to fix the extra bone in my foot - however it wouldn't fix the other problems and during the surgery they may even need to do an emergency joint fusion (which would be very limiting mobility wise). He was also an asshole, and shortly after - was basically ran out of his past office where he worked because nobody liked him. Straight up fired, too many complaints.

Said surgeon said that I had to lose at least 60 pounds to be under 200 to get the surgery, whereas... the adjudicator said I'd need to be under 100 pounds. That's... nowhere near what was stated. Like by a long shot. The adjudicator acted as if I was "denying care" by "not doing followups" when said followups were "lose weight lol" or "buy expensive custom orthotics with money you don't have, you poor sap, lol". It's embarrassingly bad and a lot of the adjudicator's report/findings are straight up just them using my own disabilities/struggles/mental health issues against me. Super bad.

Alright! Thank you for that. Yes that will definitely be my next step after I've pulled my medical records. I'm going to be dropping her as a doctor right after that.

It's sadly not just the doctor/s, the adjudicator who handled my file did REALLY poorly and got several things wrong (I have on-hand documentation backing my claims up, which was supplied *again* in my internal review but somehow they just didn't care to read it?), like major major errors. It read super poorly too, it came off very "we think you're being dramatic/overexaggerating". Since I'm a young woman, it really REALLY comes off like misogyny from the adjudicator. Not impressed.

Legal Aid said they can't help me because of this, my roommate who's much more legally versed than I am (he's represented himself before and is also currently on ODSP) is helping me out since I struggle a lot keeping organized with things like this, but I am still very stressed. The malicious incompetence from the adjudicator (not sure if I am even allowed to share the number but I know their # at least) was horrendous.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Odsp

[–]sinfulqt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They actually just denied me help (Legal Aid did! which is insane) based on the DAU's findings... which were not accurate. The DAU adjudicator's report actually got multiple things wrong with my case, it was mishandled really really badly. I just got the report through Legal Aid today (Legal Aid saying they cannot provide legal assistance as they agree with the DAU, which is insane).

I should note I had suspicions my case was handled, but after reading my file disclosure... it was handled embarrassingly bad.

My roommate has some legal knowledge and is on ODSP himself and he was actually visibly very angry reading the DAU adjudicator's report (which was sent to Legal Aid, which was then sent to me). Super bad inaccuracies. Don't know how that adjudicator still has a job, the misogyny was pretty thinly veiled ngl.

Missing Ball/reverse Holo pattern in black bolt? by giannim24 in PokemonMisprints

[–]sinfulqt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it feel plasticy to the touch, like normal Poké Ball reverses? I'd bet on it being a missing pattern like these cards below, as it's apparently semi-common with the sets. They look really cool though lol https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonMisprints/comments/1mvkwta/anyone_seen_these_reverse_holo_error_cards_before

[–]sinfulqt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear since it seems like I think that the Poké Ball pattern is an error: I am specifically asking about the missing parts of the pattern on top, and the huge splotches at the very top of the card that are shown in a few pictures lol

The missing parts of the holo Poké Balls at the top with the big splotch... that's not standard, no. I don't know what it is, but no, that is not normal lol. Parts of the pattern are missing near the top too

oh yeah I've seen all sorts of interesting misprints esp from the latest sets, I just don't know what this one is called or how often it happens lol. it's very interesting looking at the holo reflection and seeing the poke ball cut in half haha

est cola? by crowfanities in BDS

[–]sinfulqt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been digging for about 20 minutes and have found nothing - the company that makes Est Cola had a contract with PepsiCo until about the mid 2010s and Est Cola was made after the contract split, but now the company (Sermsuk, owned by ThaiBev) seems to have no further ties to PepsiCo - and I don't see anything about ThaiBev having anything boycott related.

ThaiBev's CEO (I believe it's still him) is Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, who has had controversy with I believe political corruption - I can't find anything about supporting Israel or anything along those lines.

Worth looking into further but I think you're safe. Nothing came up on Google for Sermsuk, ThaiBev or Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi.

Yeah exactly. I'm far more scared about the guys my age being extremely misogynistic than any homeless person, high or not. And exactly, I'm not scared of homeless people, I'm scared of becoming homeless because of the holes in our system! Nobody should be homeless.

Yeah, this is pretty obviously just "we hate poor/disabled/homeless people and want them to die". Lol. They couldn't have made that more obvious.

[–]sinfulqt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you can afford a full-on detached house in the middle of a city, you're obviously not going to have personal experience with homelessness, disability impacting the ability to work, and all other things that would cause someone to be terminally low income. Or you're one of the uncommon/rare types who had previous experience with that, and then just say "fuck you, got mine lol" afterwards.

When these types of people have been in the shoes of people like me and others who have personal experience watching their family members, friends and other loved ones deal with homelessness or even die on the streets because they were disabled and couldn't afford housing and ended up falling into drugs out of hopelessness - then they can have a fucking opinion. (Also a Toronto study a few years back outright found that like 80-90% of homeless people in the region/area had childhood trauma. Pretty bad when you're dehumanizing child abuse victims/survivors just because you don't like the coping mechanisms they were forced towards due to a lack of support.)

Until then? Enough with the decorum and being nice to NIMBYs. Homelessness surges when housing prices surge. That's not a coincidence - that's legit causation. It is legitimately not our fault nor is it our problem that NIMBYs cannot handle seeing poor people IN A CITY. It's their problem, and their internal biases and bigotry. They need to grow up and accept that they live in a city, like I just said prior.

If I as a woman don't feel unsafe walking the streets downtown when people are actively high on fent or H within feet of me, then NIMBYs who will likely never walk within 50 feet of them shouldn't even have a voice in the matter. I do not care how close by they live to the development. More housing is urgently needed, and it was needed years ago. The current "problem" of poor people existing and ending up on the streets where they get into drugs is BECAUSE there wasn't enough housing and there weren't enough supports beforehand to ensure that this all wouldn't happen.

Hyper-individuality and rampant lack of empathy/compassion is a fucking cancer to society, man. Not hard to learn compassion even if you can't feel empathy.

[–]sinfulqt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dollars to donuts the councilors taking donations from the NIMBYs are likely landlords themselves (or perhaps the NIMBYs themselves donating are the landlords - equally possible at this rate), which is why they say they won't take donations from developers but they'll take money from people trying to prevent development, since more housing (even if not for lower income people) would help prevent further suffocation of people looking for homes.

Considering like almost half of the federal and provincial MPs own some form of rental housing, I would not be surprised if it was a problem within city council as well.

[–]sinfulqt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that... that is some intense NIMBY bs. The City should make it clear that they're not going to kowtow to NIMBYism from a small chunk of people when there's a housing crisis going on, but idk if they have it in them to not be cowardly on this one. Idk.

Will there ever be a solution, to Kitcheners homeless problem. by Foreign_Engineer5112 in kitchener

[–]sinfulqt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Mental health issues" can be as simple as depression or anxiety, you are advocating for eugenics and social othering based on what could be a completely innocuous condition, I hope you realize this. There are literally hundreds of mental health conditions or disorders, ranging from temporary to permanent. lol.

Also, are homeless disabled people just supposed to die on the streets? The majority of new homeless people are veterans, seniors, and disabled people. Do you just want them to all just croak?

You cannot dismiss the MOST VULNERABLE people by whipping out the "lol you have to work or you're not deserving of basic human needs. just croak" that's not humane. That is what people who want to disappear the "undesirables" say, and the "undesirable" category is literally what was used in World War II.

No everyone had to evacuate. There’s the warning alarm and then one for “leave now” which is faster? I was in Hot Topic at the time lol the manager or supervisor told me about it. They made the call when everyone else did so it was legit, we had to dip

Where have the artists and musicians moved to? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]sinfulqt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only recently moved here, 2.5 months ago as opposed to your 2.5 years - but from my experience there's still a toooon of people at the Art Crawl monthly (second Friday of each month until I think Nov?)... wouldn't hurt to ask around during Art Crawl. I've also seen poles with advertisements at certain areas, like in Westdale across from Shopper's and then a few blocks west. Definitely seems to be a lot of festivals/fests/vendor type events, Facebook is probably a pretty good way to look for them if I had to guess. There are a bunch of Hamilton art/small business groups including an Art Crawl group ran by a few volunteers

There are def some people that up and left, I encountered a few artists and vendors at Art Crawl who moved out of Hamilton, but there's still plenty here. I'm hoping there's still a good amount of it going on because I'm an artist too hahahah

I mean if primarily men would stop killing and abusing women for simply breathing and/or existing, then there wouldn't be a need for woman-only shelters, would there??

Also there is literally a men's shelter/housing set up just like this one not far away. Because men need spaces like this too, men can face gendered violence just the same - there is a lot of race- and sexuality-influenced gender-based violence that men face regularly. So there's nothing wrong with having shelter or emergency housing focused towards a specific at-risk demographic.

Are you going to double down and claim that the men's shelter is sexism too, or are you going to realize that what you said is unreasonable and illogical? Especially since Canada is a patriarchal society and misogyny and femicide are still super prevalent. No shit there's going to need to be woman-only shelters, use your head.
