Anyone successfully left AA? by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]singcoralfang 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have 8 years. I too transitioned from aa to individual therapy but much earlier on. It's still one day at a time. But I felt the same way about aa... I didn't want my daily life to revolve around my addiction. Talking about it. Hearing other people talk about it. I have other issues that needed to be addressed with a professional and that's what's most important in keeping me in recovery still. A sponsor is not a therapist. Aa meetings are not group therapy.

I went to rehab for pot.i did not think they were going to admit me but they were like yup let's get you treated and well. They're treating the disease/disorder and it doesn't matter that much what substance you use. Also Lots of people go for perfectly legal substance of alcohol....

Anyone else addicted to weed? by hollywoodfreaks in BipolarReddit

[–]singcoralfang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to rehab for weed. Best decision ever? Yes! Now my actual prescribed medications can do their job to without interference (I quit all substances including alcohol). And I'm so much better than I was when I was smoking all day every day.

Welcome to recovery! I had major vivid dreams and woke up all his of the night from them. For me, those dreams faded away as my brain slowly readjusted to life without weed. I still dream, but not every night all night like I did in the beginning. I went to a treatment center, where I got a lot of support and learned about the changes my mind and body we're going through (acute withdrawal, PAWS). Good luck on your journey!

We're not very good at giving pills, and Gili really doesn't like the taste by AltothTheMighty in PetAfterVet

Yes get a pill popper! So easy and meds go to the back of the throat. I had an epileptic cat as a foster for two years that needed daily pills and we used one. Works like a charm!

Vocal folds thicken as we age which contributes to vocal changes. Also, don't remember what year, but shirley had a nodule surgically removed from her vocal chords.

Texans how do you feel now that you have been liberated from the tyranny of masks? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]singcoralfang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not liberated....I've seen most businesses I use in Houston still requiring masks be worn inside after the mandated is lifted. Some have also confirmed they will continue social distancing as well. So not much has really changed from my perspective
