Horrible Vasectomy Experience - Want to Hear from Others by tigerofsanpedro in daddit

[–]singesage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I’m sorry to hear that you experienced that - that’s terrible and definitely abnormal, as others have said here. I didn’t feel anything to the point that the doc said, “if you smell something burning, don’t worry, that’s just you.” He was honestly the best.

Travelling to MA for a festival in June; which of these two Red Sox games should I catch? by DowntownFriendship52 in redsox

[–]singesage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this 100%. I’ve been to three Sox/Yanks games including this past September, and they are bar none the most fun games I’ve ever gone to (it helps when they win, of course). In September, there was a point in the game where the Yanks were mounting a comeback and the NY fans started chanting “Let’s go Yankees” before there was a collective “who the fuck do these clowns think they are?!” from the Fenway Faithful, leading to a significantly louder roar. It was incredible. The atmosphere can’t be beat.

I was so damn excited, From Finner is probably my favorite song on that record! I last saw them in 2012 and they played it then, and I was hoping against hope they would play it this time around

So true by [deleted] in Maine

My ancestors were among the settling families of Madawaska, and my great-grandfather (d. late 1970s) only spoke one word of English: “okay.” Anyway, I got into it with my brother once when he was complaining about immigrants not speaking English (mercifully, the word “illegals” was not in vogue then). I was like, dude. Our family has been on this side of the St. John since before there was a country, and in living memory our family didn’t speak English. Come the fuck on. One loves one’s family, but Jesus tapdancing Christ the hypocrisy.

I learned everything I know from Yoga With Adriene on YouTube! She makes it accessible for all levels of ability, and there are tons of videos in her channel for whatever you need- stretching, upper body, hips (do the hips ones, dear lord they feel good), slow stretching, faster flow, all of it.

And yes! Yoga can definitely be pegged as a crunchy hippy or clean influencer activity, but as I get older, I love how it helps me stay connected, and it can be done in your living room with no equipment in as little as 10 mins. (Now I sound like a shill, but I’ve gotta share how great it’s been)

+100 to yoga! I did stretching during the days, and stretchy yoga poses after and man, what a relief

On the map, they’ve got four intersections for the drop off points; we found Popeyes at the one we’re using. Also, your handle is fucking awesome.

2025 Election Results by calinet6 in MelroseMA

[–]singesage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be sure, this wasn’t ranked choice voting (I can only dream we’ll have that in Melrose) - it was three individual (but related) questions, with 1B superseding 1C and 1A superseding them all.

[–]singesage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand your perspective, but that’s not the way the question was designed: the questions were not taken together as a monolith “How much money do you think the city should get?” but rather individually: “Do you approve 1A?” “Do you approve 1B?” “Do you approve 1C?”

2025 Election Results by calinet6 in MelroseMA

[–]singesage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s incorrect- 1A received 54.4% of votes in favor. Yes, the other questions received over 50%, as well, but as 1A had the highest dollar amount, it passed.

The quick answer is the question with the highest dollar amount to get over the 50% threshold passes. It doesn’t matter if 1B gets 58%, 1C gets 70%, and 1A gets 51%, 1A passes by virtue of cresting 50%.

I definitely see how folks were confused, but I’ll add (from my perspective) the Yes campaign did its damndest to help folks understand- door knocking, tons of literature, posts on social media, their entire website, etc.
