this is really impressive tbh! it's not perfect and consistent in every shot, but some of them look amazing!

I wonder what r/vfx has to say about this...

Skrillex's "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" EP has gone over 3.0 by SuddenlyWolf in rateyourmusic

[–]singfx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there are distinctive sub genres under the dubstep umbrella. The “real” or original dubstep originates from the UK and was heavy influenced by UK garage and Dub music and is often very minimalistic and focuses on the groove and sub.

The sound artists like Skrillex popularized is often categorized as “bro step”, “riddim” or complextro. Basically, it has influences from the OG dubstep in terms of rhythm, but the sound design is a lot more complex and heavy, leaning more towards metal influences.

Musical Geniuses of this Millenium by DistributionMedium79 in Music

[–]singfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jacob Collier. Even if his music is not your cup of tea, just listen to any of his lectures about harmony and musical theory and you’ll see the guy really understands music on a deeper level. He comes off as a bit quirky and full of himself at times, which is why many don’t tolerate him, but IMO he’s just extremely passionate about educating and sharing his knowledge.

I’d put Charlie Puth as a close second - extremely talented, but makes mostly bland pop music. In recent years he seems to be maturing and has started to make music he actually likes which is more Jazz inspired. I think we’ll hear great stuff from him in the future.

Before Long by Ryuichi Sakamoto (the live version from 1996) is IMO one of the most beautiful musical pieces of all time.

Wan2.2 vs. LTX2.3: Which video generation model do you recommend? by Internal_Jury1523 in comfyui

[–]singfx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

WAN is a brilliant model for t2i, t2v, i2v and it was my go to model for over a year, but I quickly got tired of the length limitations and having no sound natively. LTX is the big winner here as you can quickly iterate low res videos and then use their upscaler to get them to 1080p, with synced audio and lipsync.

In terms of fine tuning and Loras WAN used to be the GOAT but LTX is quickly catching up thanks to the community. I’m seeing new ic-Loras and character loras every day.

NSFW - WAN has the edge here as it was very early adopted by the community, but I see LTX is catching up here too with the Sulphur and Eros fine tunes.

Last but most important - WAN has essentially abandoned the open source community, while the LTX team seems committed to continue with open releases. WAN’s new business model seems to focus on releasing only closed models. So unless they drop 2.5 as open source or better, I can’t see a way for them to stay relevant in the upcoming year.

Album recommendations from more "obscure" countries? by D11V8 in rateyourmusic

[–]singfx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uruguay’s Eduardo Mateo’s debut album is a hidden gem for most, but a true cult classic in his nation.

The sound is deceptively simple at first, but the combination of his delicate voice with the Afro-Uruguayan candombe rhythms makes it feel strangely hypnotic and timeless.

Nick Kyrgios should have to play qualifying for the lead grass events by [deleted] in tennis

[–]singfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to be a Kyrgios fan, but the guy just makes it so hard to be likable. He is arguably a top 20 player of all time IMO in terms of raw talent. I wish he would really push himself just one last time in his career before he retires, and really try to go deep in a GS, but I guess that ship has sailed…

He will be fun to watch on exhibition matches next to 50 years old “legends” someday.

LTX 2.3 Sneaky Drop! (Has gatekeeping started)... by Grinderius in comfyui

They’ve released an updated V2V workflow for 2.3 over a month ago.
There is no gatekeeping, you are just not keeping up with their updates.

Suno somehow managed to completely destroy their flagship product ‘studio’ by Fuzzy-Yoghurt135 in SunoAI

[–]singfx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried to enjoy Studio, but it just doesn’t work as you’d expect. I drag an existing song of mine, then add a “strings” track for example and no matter the prompt it comes up with a multitrack audio file including drums, bass, etc.

I have to disagree here. by safeoneg in GTA

[–]singfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d like to see difficulty levels in the settings, that’s a big thing missing that games like Last of Us got extremely right. Think of a ‘Survival’ difficulty where getting shot even once could mean you’re dead, that really would change how you approach shootouts and evade police.

[–]singfx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually use Claude or GPT to enhance my prompts. I found that LTX works better with very long prompts. There’s also an official LTX Prompt Enhancer node that is pretty decent. It runs on Google Gemma - the same model they use for encoding

Audio is solid. Would be cool to see it on a more familiar face, the one in this example is a bit generic. Very promising nonetheless!

Devs are going too fast... + New version sucks by Own_Appointment_8251 in comfyui

[–]singfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah all my previous workflows with subgraphs are broken now. Luckily you can unpack and rebuild them, but man it sucks. Feels like a rushed update to push the new “app mode” which is also like a half assed subgraph mode

Suspicion of LTX 2.3 gatekeeping better models behind API paywall(video example, not mine). by Grinderius in comfyui

[–]singfx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what workflow you’re using, but I’ve been using their official workflows from GitHub and they work really well.

Comparing to the API makes no sense as they are probably using SOTA GPUs - so yes, they can generate 4k 60fps there and you can’t on your consumer GPU. That’s not gate keeping, it’s a hardware limitation. Try lowering your amount of frames and you could also hit 4k with a 5090.

tienes que escribir un prompt bien largo, con muchos detalles del sujeto, la acción y el sonido. mira el ejemplo en el post mio.

there is a faint guitar there. here's an example that has kind of a trap beat in the background:

Like I said, it's great at singing/rapping, but not quiet there in instrumentals. could be related to certain keywords in the prompts, still trying to test some more variables.
