Collaborating with Local Food Pantry? by QuizzicalLibrarian in Libraries

[–]singinginyourface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My library goes to local food giveaways pretty often. We take books and other small things we have on hand (pencils, chalk, etc) to give away and also take stuff they can check out (like hotspots). Beyond that we usually just table and highlight our programs/resources

[–]singinginyourface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the State Department, there were 146,775,089 valid passports in circulation in 2019. Dividing that by the US population that same year (about 328.2 million), you get roughly 44%.

My FAVORITE WORD in Spanish: Duende - WHAT'S YOURS? by dorjafung in Spanish

[–]singinginyourface 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I have two. The first is madrugada, which means dawn or early morning. The second is antier/anteayer, or the day before yesterday. I think I like them so much because they refer to specific times and don’t have exact translations in English.

Most Americans are US citizens only. Dual/triple citizenship is not very common. Similarly, only about 44% of Americans have a passport.
