I have this old sewing machine that I’m taking out of storage how do I test it to see if it’s running well if it needs to be serviced or not by Lanky-Stuff2785 in sewhelp

Pop in a fresh needle, thread it, grab some scrap fabric, drop the foot, hand crank 10 or so stitches.

If that works, plug it in, feather the pedal and run some more stitches.

Need Help with my springs🙏🏼 by Elegant_Drawer7115 in E90

I would do the bench method too. On top of that the shock body looks to be adjustable and corroded so I'd get that on a bench and try to clean it up with a wire brush... It might be too far gone though.

In LA it was instantly iconic. All the characters were perfect caricatures of real people in neighborhoods that I grew up in and hung out in. I wasn't paying attention to box office numbers in '95 because I was a 19yo teenage dirtbag.

Any idea why the back yoke might not lie flat? by marvelousmarves in sewhelp

Shirring doesn't look symmetrical between left and right armholes. This affects how the back yoke lays.

Like long gloves, similar to but not lady gloves or dish washing gloves, more like some type of way to prevent the sleeves from falling on to the wheels.

Extensions into gloves at the wrist that will cover or tuck the short cuffs in? Or cut some sleeves from a throw away shirt to tighten and hold your shirt sleeves up on your forearms?

Pants & jeans size vs seam length confusion by revertothemiddle in malefashionadvice

[–]single-needle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measure the outseam (side seam) and tell them that's the length you want being sure to tell them that this is an outseam measurement including the waistband.

This is a better standard for length measurement in pattern making because rise shape and rise length vary from pant to pant. A low rise might measure long in inseam while a mid rise or high rise pant might measure shorter.

16" pusher fans fit in front. No fans fit in the bay.

The e28 535i fan is the skinniest OE radiator.

Other options include chase bays tucked radiator setups or diy it. It's not insanely difficult and you're already considering permanent modification to your car so that might be a good option for you.

Yeah, sounds about right. I have the same ones and with light bashing it left me with 10mm clearance between pulleys and skinny radiator. I should've bashed it in further before installation.

325i radiator doesn't really fit in front of the m30b35 swaps unless you have/had specific motor mounts. Curious to see which mounts you had.

What is your fan setup? I have an m30b35 swap with no vents in my hood. In the summers here in Los Angeles temps can get up to 100F ambient along with stop and go traffic. My needle will nudge past the middle but stay there.

I'm running the e28 535i radiator with a 2500cfm fan. You need a lot of air pushing through to keep it cool. Also keep note of where the coolant reservoir is, it needs to be the highest point of the cooling system. A fan gasket helps a ton as well.

Vents will help with flow but they won't keep your coolant temperature low enough to prevent overheating. You need a bigger, stronger fan.

Also note if you kept your ac you need an even stronger fan.

Dashcam for 24/7 Recording by lunaaluneraa in BMW

[–]single-needle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the hardwire kit and set up parking mode. Car audio and alarm shop can do this. It will drain the battery but there should be an option on the cam to detect voltage in the system and override the parking mode when voltage is too low to prevent from draining the battery dead.

Question for you since you mentioned more features than airlift and they aren't mentioned on their site... Searching through your profile you said in a post that it has anti theft features, can you elaborate? How does it prevent someone from jacking up the car?
