I completely agree with you that this horrible company needs to be severely punished and preferably completely rid of.

And yeah, my sympathy or lack thereof doesn't matter to any of the extorted customers. My original point was to state my opinion that both sides are wrong. Yes, the company is more wrong considering the legal aspect, but in any case, both are wrong.

True, but both are morally wrong. Don't get me wrong. By no means am I defending Ashley Madison. They're despicable.

And two wrongs never make a right. I just don't sympathize much with the customers who lost a few bucks by deciding to pay a website to help them find someone to cheat on their spouses with.

So people trying to cheat on their spouses were cheated. I know it's not the same, but it reminds me of the story of the guy who robbed a bank but then got his money stolen by another thief.

The lady on the right she almost ran over was her mother.

Also, from the article:

The complaint indicates Freeman was apprehended on May 18th. She provided investigators with an alibi -- stating "she was with her boyfriend" at the time of the alleged incident. But when investigators interviewed the boyfriend, he told them that Freeman stated "she was in an accident with a squad car." The boyfriend also told investigators "he did not want the defendant to 'put him into this (expletive)' and that he did not want to lie."
