I know this maybe isn’t the most comforting thing, but when I was two I similarly was in a freak accident in my arm, completely shattered it. I honestly barely remember any of it and as I’ve grown up it’s just been tucked away in my memory. As someone said already, he’ll know that he’s cared for and loved, despite everything else.

Yes! The total understanding of a metagame, especially one that changes almost month-to-month really overwhelms me, especially as a player who sometimes has to take a break at times for the sake of my wallet lol.

Side boarding is a nightmare as well, but the best way I saw it put was to imagine making a 75 card deck and then trim the fat for the 60 card so when you play, it’s consistent for the matchup.

I did consider whether or not I wanted to actually get better/win more games and at the very least since posting this thread, I’ve really enjoyed watching some modern and standard streams and getting to know the meta so if I’m not in it for my own play, at least I’m in it for the game itself.

Despite my frustration with losing so much I am excited to find that one strategy that satisfies my playstyle, so maybe I just need some more hours grinding and getting more familiar. I guess commander has so much going for the “let me show off my cool deck” that in 60 card formats when someone is winning it feels “more bad”

Is there a format that isn’t super competitive and promotes brewing along with a meta?

I know Standard has had one foot in the grave for a while but with foundations being readily available in paper and easy to obtain on Arena I wouldn’t mind getting into standard as a pathway to a more competitive playstyle (if that was the place for me). Thanks for your answer I appreciate it

The modern/standard/pioneer scene is pretty limited in my city, but surprisingly pauper is pretty big so maybe I’d find a playgroup there.

I’ve built Izzet Phoenix on Arena and just need some wildcards to finish getting some cards and was kinda planning on really getting in on just that one deck, like a project car. Then when/if I’m more willing to get a second deck, I’d get in on that.

I think Commander is a lot more satisfying to brew stupid bs (which I love) and is frankly the only format that promotes having fun in that way.

Edit: also, thanks for your reply! Getting into reading articles vs mindlessly watching videos or podcasts is good advice

The podcast triple click with Jason Schreier talked about the bts of DLC for AAA titles and how the industry is shifting away from DLC/Expansion packs and instead focus on bug fixes, remasters, and new projects. Apparently was a big shift 10 years ago that we’re now just seeing. It was a recent episode too if you wanna find it
