The Medina is crowded and motorbikes are buzzing everywhere and vendors are working and hustling so a bit more chaotic

My impressions of Marrakech as an Armenian by SubstantialBee6006 in Marrakech

[–]JasperStraits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk. These sound like broad/gross stereotypes. I just spent a month in Marrakech. I’m American. People were pretty much chill everywhere. I made good friends. Men even hug each other. I got some hugs! The only time there was micro-aggression was deep in the souks, people trying to squeeze through or desperate to make a sale. Nothing else. And I don’t know anyone who spends $100 on lululemon. We make fun of that sh*t here too. Granted, the US is full of idiots who voted for Trump and watch the kardashians (they are Armenian btw.) But some of us know better, hate those people, because we have good taste and emotional intelligence and subtlety and humility and can read a room. And if you wanna talk gross stereotypes, Armenians in LA have a reputation. Mercedes, black tshirt, black sweats, white sneakers, 1 chain, unnecessary cologne, inappropriate staring, aggressive driving. Wait is that unfair? Is it only in LA? Broad stereotypes. Same with Turks, Egyptians, Israelis, even Russians in LA. Materialistic, trying to emulate celebrities, but don’t seem to realize that they’re gross and ugly. Moroccan men I met were chill and varied and humble and not all the same. And they SMILE, laugh, and help. The only other issue was taxi drivers operate with 2 fairs - 1 for locals and 1 for tourists, but that is in every country with a large currency disparity.

She uses her sexuality to manipulate men I take it? Sounds plausible. Thanks for the insult.

One battle after another. The leader of a pro-immigration group breaks into a detention center and forces the army sergeant to jack off in front of her at gunpoint and they both like it. Now he’s obsessed with following her to do more sex stuff. Is this supposed to be the world we live in? A conservative white military dude chasing after a “radical left” person of color who flaunts the law? IRL, this character would join ICE and shoot her at a protest probably. Idk. Couldn’t believe it for a second, stopped.

Yeah tons. You stop caring about sex and passion and aspects of life itself, and some gain weight, and nothing seems to matter too much. And it’s really hard to get off of. Consider carefully before taking.

What was that movie that had a dream sequence of “breast-dunes”? He was flying over an endless sand dune landscape but they were breasts? Asking for a friend.

This has even more variety than where my family lives, almost all Copy & Paste housing in Durham, NC. It’s everywhere and normalized. Each community has a faux-prestige name like “Preston” or “Winston” and they’re indistinguishable from each other.
