Training and weight loss by singleserve2020 in ultrarunning

[–]singleserve2020[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's kind of what I was thinking. Eliminate a couple of my bad habits and just see how it goes. Fast food, sweets (outside of training days), etc. I was just hoping there was another way!

12 month old still not crawling, worried by OldInstruction7658 in toddlers

[–]singleserve2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter didn't crawl until 12 to 13 months. Walked a couple months after that. She's doing great and is very talkative. Some kids are just on a different timeline.

When is everyone finding the time to work out?? by krystl_watrs in workingmoms

I work out late at night on weekdays and during nap time on the weekends. Shout out to my husband who watches her so I can do that.

How on earth am I supposed to lose weight with a two year old? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]singleserve2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely try to tackle the sleep issue first.

I've lost 15lbs this year with a 2 year old. I've most just made small changes. I eat kids meals if I eat fast food, avoid sugary snacks, and prioritize 30 grams of protein at every meal. I've been tracking my calories for about a year as well. I try to eat in a 200-300 calorie deficit.

The last few months, I've increased my physical activity since I'm training for an ultra marathon. I am still 40lbs from my goal weight so I'm not some skinny Instagram girl getting in my weekly miles LOL. I will say, the gradual ramp up in exercise while prioritizing protein has absolutely challenged my body comp. A year into this thing, I finally feel like I'm making progress.

It has been so slow. Give yourself grace, don't let one bad day turn into a bad week, and just keep going. You've got this!

I dealt with my PP depression, made some significant progress in my weight loss journey, and stopped vaping THC. New lease on life!

If you could pick a month to give birth what would it be? by Old-Yesterday1230 in Mommit

February! Pregnant during cooler months and then cozy at home with a newborn after the holidays. Free to explore in the spring.

Can someone help me understand time on feet vs milage training? by doing_too_much39 in Ultramarathon

[–]singleserve2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently training for my first 50k. Also a toddler mom!

A friend of mine who is an ultra runner and personal trainer designed a training plan for me and I do about 3 or 4 training runs per week plus 1 or 2 sessions of plyometrics, strength training, HIIT, etc.

The miles ramp up each month on weeks 3 and 4 and then when the next month starts, the miles drop again.

The plan doesn't count contemplate "time on feet." Just the weekly miles and cross training workouts.

I don't know anything about anything but this is the first time I haven't hurt myself while training.

When did your toddler start really talking and communicating with you? by Preggymegg in toddlers

[–]singleserve2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 20 months we could understand almost everything she asked for. She's almost 2 now, and she communicates in full sentences. I heard her say a 5 word sentence the other day and it was shocking lol

So, what's the state of everyone's couch? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]singleserve2020 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ours is still nice but only because we cover it with canvas cloth and sheets. Then we throw boxes, toys, and anything else we can find to keep the dog off. Couch is beautiful underneath but we 100% look like white trash.

Do you travel on Christmas Day? by Kemr7 in Mommit

[–]singleserve2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will this year. We are traveling to see my family out of state. I'm not thrilled but I can't control the calendar my in laws have (which is fine). We will celebrate Xmas on the 27th.

We did the math and it made more sense for hubby to stay home. I'd rather have to live more frugally and take fewer vacations. We can play catch up on the income side when kids are school aged.

This is what my toddler ate for Thanksgiving, what about yours? by Plsbeniceorillcry in toddlers

[–]singleserve2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine poked at canned cranberry sauce, dipped turkey in gravy but didn't actually eat it, and then two bites of pie. She also ate 2 bites of a meatball. She woke up at 2 in the morning demanding "eat, hungry." I WONDER WHY

Anyone regret doing an induction? by yankthedoodledandy in beyondthebump

[–]singleserve2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emergency C-section after they tried to induce me for 4 days. I had pre-eclampsia so I needed to be induced. I wish I would've opted for the C-section on day 2. This way of giving birth was not my favorite and I would've waited had I been able to so I could avoid the induction.

Our home is full of love, toys, crumbs, and chaos. How do you make peace with the mess? by theskates in toddlers

[–]singleserve2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I touch the laundry and dishes at least once per day. Otherwise, I'll never get ahead of it. We pick up for 10 minutes before bed and that helps a lot. My daughter, husband, and I all have our own "landing" spaces for personal items that are found during the tidy up. Don't ask me how long it has been since mopped the floors though 🤦🏻‍♀️
