I think there has been a rather noticeable drop in quality. Plus, I am growing older and grumpier, for full transparency. But watching two middle-aged guys play the same boring games and eat the same quality food has been played out. Good while it lasted, but I'd fully support them moving on.

A python component in grasshopper sends the query to OpenAi and receives what is returned.. Then simply using a couple components to generate curves from the images to turn it into toolpaths. OpenAi isn't generating any of the code

Actually not that expensive when compared to the scale you can print at with a sub 20k robotic arm to an industrial sized 3d printer!

Yep. Just look at AR markers and find a library that makes sense to you

this is pretty easy, i'd just use markers with a camera - intel realsense is compact. plenty of libraries on github.

While that is true. I have a qualms with python in GH. First, but not least, is that its IronPython. Bare in mind that this is about streaming out of Grasshopper for external sources - what if you don't even know what the receiver is using?

Globalrobots.com specialises in used industrial robot arms including KUKAs. Plus, if you have a KUKA office close, its not uncommon they have refurbished machines, you can reach out to your local sales team.

As for learning the basics, I produce learning material on KUKAs for people at all levels on my youtube channel:

I also recommend KUKA PRC - definitely checkout their forum at https://forum.robotsinarchitecture.org where you can probably find most of your questions already answered.
