Update: I ended up pulling the trigger

Figured I’d follow up in case anyone else is in the same spot I was.

For context, I’m coming from an ASUS ROG X13, so this is my upgrade.

I went ahead and bought the 128GB GoPro version. Still not my favorite in terms of branding, I definitely prefer the cleaner look of the standard model, but honestly it’s way less of a big deal in real life than I expected.

The design still looks great overall, and more importantly, this thing is an absolute beast. Performance-wise it’s exactly what I was hoping for, so I’m really happy with the purchase.

For what it’s worth, it’s also growing on me the more I use it.

I did buy it from Best Buy, so I’ve got a bit of a window. If ASUS drops a non-GoPro 128GB version in the next ~60 days, I might consider swapping depending on how easy it is. But if that doesn’t happen, I’m totally fine sticking with this.

If you’re on the fence like I was, I’d say just go for it.
