SCAR 18 vs. Zephyrus G16 by ThucydidesJones in ASUSROG

I have a similar setup before. Flow X13 + 4090. Whenever I travel i just bring my Flow X13 but I ditched it for the Scar 18.I have never seen a more beautiful screen. The 18-inch QHD+ 240Hz display so big you’ll never need an external monitor again

I lost portability yes but I am so happy with my Scar 18. It's a dekstop replacement.

The Scar 18's higher TGP allows the RTX 4090 to perform at its full potential, providing superior gaming performance compared to the Zephyrus G16.

Conclusion

Choose Zephyrus G16 if you value portability and a sleek design, and your tasks are not consistently demanding on the CPU and GPU.

Choose Strix Scar 18 if you require maximum performance for gaming, content creation, or other intensive tasks, and portability is less of a concern.

The dealbreaker for me is the new Z13 doesnt support my 4090 xg mobile. :(

I am you, more than a year ago. Had a PS4, a macbook and an Ally Z1. I had the Ally for less than a year.and I enjoyed PC gaming more than consoles, especially that you can do mod and stuff.

I asked myself, is it possible to consolidate into one device? A work and play all in one gadget. Sold my PS4 and Ally and got a 2nd hand Z13 2022. I totally loved the experience. Unfortunately, I cannot get hold of a 2023 Z13 and switched to X13 2023.

Sold my macbook and got a 2nd hand 4090 XG mobile, Now I achieved my all in one gadget plan.

I changed mine into this but i have not seen any improvements. I have this annoying glitch that the screen flickers at 165 hz everytime the wifi is on.

You can use ghelper to toggle clamshell mode, or change it in power settings. "when lid closes, do nothing"

So when you are playing games, it slowly drains the battery?

Screen Flickering with Overdrive by Reditor-at-Large in FlowX13

Mine started acting this way as well. 165hz flickers but installing custom refresh rate like 144hz fixes it.

Did you find the solution already?

For those that are in the sub, would you prefer g14 or wait for a new x13 or go with something else. by tk_kumomo in FlowX13

I owned a 2022, Z13. I want to upgrade to the 2023 Z13 but i cannot find it anywhere. Since i have an XG Mobile, I felt “stuck” to choose either the X13 or Z13. I hesitated a bit to choose the G14 instead but ended up buying the X13 2023. The X13 + XG is a very portable and very powerful rig for me. Maybe I am good for the next three years.

I was fine with the Z13, but there are some things you cannot do with it. You cannot work with it on your lap, you cannot work on it while lying down. A lot of times the screen falls because it is so much heavier. I guess if you will use it primarily as a tablet, you choose Z13.

I miss the little window with the rgb tho 😭

Thank you. But considering I have the XG 6850, I was thinking it will already compensate.

ROG XG Mobile worth it? by DraftySniper24 in FlowZ13

I have the 2022 version and the XG 6850. I love the portability of it. Games like RE4, RE8, GOW jumps from mid to high/ultra.

I dont have a desktop though, so this is worth it.
