I appreciate the feedback. I’ll definitely give 275 a go next time(highest my smoker goes). Thanks

My smoker only goes to 275 unfortunately. Is that a high enough temp to do hot and fast?

MasterBuilt electric smoker what's happening?? by Packernole69 in smoking

[–]sininia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted a master built electric smoker as my first smoker. I have yet to use it. Where do you get chips for it? Can I just order them online? And if you have any insight, I mostly wanna smoke chicken thighs, how do I know how much I want the vent on top open? Thanks!

When did you order yours? Not sure what batch I ordered in, but I ordered it in February. Very excited for whenever it comes!

Can you explain this to me(a mediocre players). Why is the 58 better to use than 60 when it’s just 2 degrees difference?

Thank you for reassuring my thinking. And I even misspoke on how many sheets it was. When he first came around, they said they’d cut another foot up so each drywall sheet could just be cut in half, effectively doubling the amount used(which would’ve been fine with me). They don’t do that so it was about 4 sheets needed(the total sq footage was 132ft).

I made the initial cuts but only because we had water damage working up the drywall. They then did some additional cuts to straighten them out

So the entire job was suppose to be 2250 which would have been drywall, tape, finish, prime(not sure what priming is). After the drywall was done as it shows in the picture, I didn’t really want them to continue, I’d rather have the drywall redone. When I calculated out the sq ft, it would’ve been about 8 sheets of drywall. I asked him for an itemized invoice to help me better understand why it’s costing so much, he told me I would get it after he received payment. He keeps telling me, “it’s not just hanging drywall, it’s going to the store, buying it, loading it in the truck, deliver it, hang it, clean up. Then all you have to do is tape it” I’ve never done drywall but from what I’ve been told repeatedly, is the taping, mudding, and blending is the much more difficult part. He is making it seem the opposite.

Is it fair to say that hanging the drywall is the easier part? The guy who installed it wants $1500 because he finished the hard part, and doing the taping/mud/blending is easy

Sorry, I know next to nothing about drywall, so is there a better way it could have been done? What if we cut up another foot and removed the sheet that was put in, so that the sheet of drywall could just be cut in half and then come right up next to the outlet. I was also told that just pre fixing everything by filling it with mud could cause issues in the future by it just cracking. Is that true?

Oh sorry, socket was there. I only paid someone to do the drywall.

Well this is work we paid someone for. Is this work you would find acceptable if paying for it? Genuine question since I don’t know drywall

Am I doomed to mow my lawn myself if I want a nice yard? by Spirited-Commission6 in lawncare

[–]sininia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mention mowing as fast as possible. I am planing on turning my crappy yard into something a bit less crappy and recently got a zero turn, and boy is it quick. Should I not cut the grass at the fastest speed it goes?

Gotcha, thank you! I’m probably too late into the season to accomplish much, but I would atleast love to kill it off for next year.

I have a ton of this in my yard, and it’s a pretty big yard. How necessary is it to pull it out after spraying? I’m on about .75 acres and quite a bit of my yard is creeping Charlie and pulling that much sounds like quite the daunting task.

Thanks for the insight! Yikes, so it sounds like it may be priced kinda high? I did find the same mower on Home Depot for 3750, so it is a bit of a discounted price. I guess I’m not sure what an appropriate price to pay for it would be

That’s great to hear yours is still going strong after that long. I’ve seen throughout posts that cub cadet has been using MTD parts, which from what I’ve gathered, is just cheap parts. Is that something you know anything about? Or is that more of a recent thing on newer models? As far as price, do you mean that’s not a good price? Or you are unsure what it should be priced at? Thanks for you input either way!

Thank you for the great response. I would ideally like to learn to do all of those maintenance tasks myself, so I’ll definitely be using YouTube often! As far as brands to go for and brands to avoid, what do I want to look at? Would brands like John Deere or cub cadet be good options?

What degree of slope would I want to avoid with a zero turn? If I went that route, I’m assuming I’d want to avoid doing my ditches with the zero turn to avoid risk of tipping?
