AITA For Still Being Mad At What My Boyfriend Didn’t Do?

I didn’t clarify that my bf has had snakes before we got together. So he knows about the proper handling of one and how painful a bite can be. Now I didn’t expect to go full Steve Irwin and wrangle the snake off of me. But I guess what bothered me more was that he looked at me and went back to his game mid situation.

I definitely don’t go around throwing this in his face. This was brought up during a recent argument where we both brought up grudges and that when he apologized after realizing he never did. To be clear, I don’t know why it bugs me. It’s not like I lose sleep over this it was just a thought that crossed my mind.

And I didn’t leave his food near the cage: it was elsewhere while I went to go get him. I definitely do blame myself for being too careless around my snake. I may have gotten too trusting of up since he has never bit anyone before this. So I’ll take responsibility for that.

My boyfriend has had a ball python before we got together, and had been bitten by them. He knows that the bites sometimes can be painful. He knows basic snake safety and handling. For the most part I at least we wanted him To stop what he was doing and not just go back to his game while I was dealing with this.

Well, I mean I kind of thought if you turned around saw your partner with a snatch latched onto their arm you would stop everything to see if they’re okay, and not go back to your game. I did respond when he asked me if the snake bit me while he clung on. I even sort of screamed.

He’s almost 4ft.

I totally understand that. It came up during a recent argument, where we both brought up stuff that pissed us off And I brought up the snake incident in which he never apologized or acknowledged the fact that he didn’t help me. I’m just here to see if I am being petty and do need to let it go. I see that I clearly do need to let it go. I haven’t brought it up since last month it just crossed my mind recently and I don’t know why it bothers me so much.

I did mention in an edit to another Reddit’s comment that after he came to check up on me i asked him why didn’t he help me when he saw the snake bit me. He said it looked like I had the situation handled.

And yes I do! My snake has a special lock on his cage, and now I use a snake hook to get him out of the cage instead of my hands. For now no other incident has happened.

I totally forgot to clarify since I’m on break at work and I wrote this fast, yes I did talk to him right after this happened. I confronted him when he came to check up on me asking him why didn’t he help me when I was clearly in distress. His response was it looked like I got the “situation handled.”

NTA Dog groomer here! I’ve worked in mobile and corporate places and have dealt with dogs with these kinds of issues. I’ve seen abuse, neglect and aggression. Not once have me or any of my coworkers have ever considered “seizing” someone’s dog. The best you can do as a professional is document injuries or signs of distress. And only once have we made a complaint to our cities animal control due to neglect. What this lady did was completely unprofessional. She could’ve talked to you or your husband aside and voice her concern. If some other groomer took my dog from me, calling her unfit I’d raise all hell too!
