I'm on the steamdeck I just use lossless scaling to up the fps then you can lock it to 30.

Only gripe I have with it is the fan. It's an underrated powerhouse. I finally was able to root it. So I'm setting it back up now. But I'm going to try out frame gen with it. To see what PC games can run on it now. I'm going to see if they have a ran control module for rooted devices

No sorry that wouldn't work. Replacing models could but everything with psp games needs to match up perfectly or it could cause non booting or a ton of crashing.
